We may never see it again. Maybe not in our lifetimes and almost certainly not on that scale. This really was the perfect storm. Chelsea (previous and subsequent league champions)fell off a cliff, Man City were in a weak spell, United, Arsenal etc all also in a poor cycle. Liverpool hadnt achieved peak levels again. The one year that someone else could win it, and Ranieri of all managers was the perfect man to manage expectations and, ironically given his nickname the Tinker man, knew well enough to keep roughly the same winning team all year. It is, I strongly believe, the biggest team sporting upset in all team sporting history, and quite possibly up there for biggest upset in all sports, including individuals. With the wealth and talent of 6-7 other teams, and given Leicester were bottom the previous Christmas, winning the toughest and richest league in the world was actually incomprehensible. We probably won't see it again.

For hardcore fans...these emotions are legit. When you start supporting a club that is an ultimate underdog and you live your life attached to that club never expecting to see them to win a trophy...let alone, the English Premier League Title, it’s an incredible feeling. This was me in 2012 when Man City won the title...the emotions didn’t even have time to set in because of the nature of triumph. Just happened. The joy within these tears can’t be seen but it’s there and the memories of that emotional reaction and what it means to those individuals that experience the surreal emotions...it lasts a lifetime. It’s the stuff of dreams!
@Hermiie4 жыл бұрын
How do you feel about Man City getting more bandwagon fans throughout the years?
@andrewrechichi40914 жыл бұрын
Hermiie - Nobody can control what anyone does. For some people, they get a kick out of attaching themselves to a club once they win...for others, it’s a lifelong rollercoaster ride that is 100% dedicated to the journey. Long time Man City fans never expected a Cup trophy let alone English Premier League Titles for decades. Now the success is here, those long term City fans are the one that ultimately are most euphoric, thankful and appreciative of all the silverware won because they suffered. None of the new fans know the heartbreak of relegation. They only know one Manchester City, the winning one...just hope these same fans stick it out when City aren’t as successful because to have fans through thick and thin...that’s the measure of a great club. I consider a club like Newcastle United to be great. They haven’t won silverware in ages...but I think they’re great because they’ve had such a wonderful fanbase for decades who have jumped aboard their rollercoaster ride and stayed for the duration.

The most enjoyed by everyone was Leicester, but the best ending to any League season cannot be beaten. It was 1989 @ Anfield when Arsenal scored in the 90th minute to win the League Title NOT on goal difference, but on goals scored, as goal difference was exactly equal!!! Unlike the City win when they played QPR, the 1989 match was actually between the 2 teams fighting for the Title!!! Michael Thomas scores after the arrogant Liverpool bench had already congratulated each other 🤣

This is exactly what I was like when my club Pompey beat Man U at Old Trafford in our 2008 FA Cup quarter final. This is how a real supporter feels when their team pulls off a seemingly impossible win. To a degree I know the feeling, but what his club did that year with the money involved in the top division of English football. Words can’t describe it, but this man and his emotions does. To all you glory hunting twats who support big clubs from towns you’ve never lived near let alone been too, I present to you a real supporter of his local club. You will NEVER feel this level of emotion after a footballing win
@Uio3eva4 жыл бұрын
Those who support clubs just because they win a lot don’t know what they’re missing, it’s all about experiencing the lows; they make the highs so much sweeter. I’m glad I watched Leicester playing turgid football for 10 years and dropping to League 1 in the process, to then go through the emotional rollercoaster we went through in 15/16. It means so much more than if my team won something every year. When Portsmouth make their way back up, and they will eventually, it will be such a thrill on that journey - it’s the journey that makes being a fan worthwhile 👍 Good Luck to Pompey
