Hi! I found your overview- thank you as it’s been hard to find a clear review online. I’ll be leading a book club discussion, and I want to select a romance novel that will resonate for M/F/F, M/M/F, F/F, M/M, which one would you recommend?

I’m a total Sierra Simone stan. Fated Mates recently discussed Priest and I think it’s true, you’re either going to love her or hate her

I read the first book after seeing you talk about it before... But I always shy away when it comes to reviewing erotica! Well, not always, but I tend to do it on the blog instead of on video, LOL. But I do have a lot of thoughts about this book, maybe I should make the effort. Totally agree about the parents stuff killing the vibe. Come on.

I definitely understand shying away from reviewing erotica on video. It's one thing to write about smut, another thing to like say the words out loud haha. BUT I also want to know like all your thoughts

great review, helped me a lot to decide not to read this series, I read sinner and the lacking of substance in favor of the smut factor didn't help my interest, so I don't want to repeat the experience. thaks

Your spot on, especially when it comes to substituting character development and dialogue with sex. This is a weakness in her writing. But for erotica, her books are better than most.

Agreed, I've enjoyed her writing more than most erotica that I've read, which is probably why I'll always give her books a shot

This is interesting. I tried Lesson in Thorns because SO many people I know were reading it, but I think this kind of erotica is not really for me. I did like the setting and the atmosphere and thought there was potential, but I was really irritated with the characters and felt like they were acting out sexually as a response to trauma which made me want them to just go get therapy and THEN figure out what they are into sexually. It was frustrating and I don't think her books are for me.

I think substitution of sex for therapy is a common in all her books (at least the ones I've read), and the degree to which I'm okay with that depends so much on what the characters are working through, so I can definitely it being even more frustrating for other people

I 100% agree with you, while she is a great writer and I love this series... Poe does become watered down and un-interesting... Auden and Saint love her but I really don't get why. Yeah she is a sweet librarian but she really isn't that interesting even with all the stuff happening with her mother she really is bland, I don't know if the writer thought that somehow her neutrality would be relatable to the reader so therefore enough to carry her as a character but I really found myself reading her point of view just for the sake of it because I had no choice. Saint and Auden really have so much to them... Maybe she's better at writing males, idk because I felt like Rebecca and Del where not that well written either or likable. I definitely will read the rest of series but it definitely is not flawless and I hope either Poe becomes more interesting or becomes less of a focul point.

That writing style is something to think about😢😢😢. I have a good imagination so. No no . My family would not approve
