In this video, we look at the resting potential. First we explore what is meant by the resting potential. We then look at how the resting potential is maintained in neurones by the action of the sodium-potassium pump and the presence of sodium ion channels and potassium ion channels.

Can someone explain to me why potassium ions needed to be actively transported in, only to just let them diffuse out again???
