Hi Shaun, after this half term I will be sitting my mocks and for science, the mocks will include all papers. I started revision 2 days ago and Im beginning from the top of the spec and working my way down until I finish everything. I don't want to keep checking the spec to see what I know because I just use your videos for science revision and you quote directly from the AQA specification. Is that right? Now, the problem is my teachers said that these mocks will determine If I'll stay in higher or get put in foundation. But I want to stay in the higher tier! But I also think I won't do good in these mocks because I don't know any of the content and hence why I started revision 2 days ago. I'm aiming to get grades 7/8's in my exams but If I do badly in these mocks then I won't be able to achieve that since I'll be put in foundation. I am willing to put in any amount of work! As long as I achieve the grades I want. But I have NO IDEA how Im suppose to do that because to achieve top grades I need to UNDERSTAND & MEMORISE. However, in such a short amount of time, How am I supposed to do that for papers 1 & 2 in all sciences!? I have your workbooks, and what Im doing is I watch one of your videos-I try to understand-I make ANKI flashcards as Im watching your video-I then do the workbook on the topic I watched. (NOW, my thought process is, If I do this for every single topic it will take LOTS of time and I need to cover all content.). So again, Please help me. I'm lost, I don't know what to do In order to achieve top grades 😫😣🙏

Hi. First, let me confirm that my videos are based directly on the AQA specification. What I recommend is that you spend as much time as you can watching the videos rather than making revision cards or completing the workbooks (you can do that for the summer exams). Rather than starting at the top of the spec (which may well be the content that you already understand), instead identify a topic that you know you're shaky on. Then watch the videos in that playlist (don't watch triple videos unless you are doing triple). Jot down some rough notes along the way if you want but don't spend time making them neat. When you come to a video that you find challenging, watch it again to get the ideas. Once you have watched one playlist, identify the next one to watch. Ideally, you will watch all of the videos at least once and possibly twice (especially the difficult topics). Also check with your teachers that you have to revise EVERY topic in the spec (for example, have you been taught EVERY topic already?). This will be the most efficient way to use your time. Then when you've revised, I'd suggest downloading a past paper from aqa.org.uk and trying it. But I'd not recommend doing past papers until you've spent a lot of time learning the material. Also, try not to worry about how you do. Just make sure that you use the time as best you can. I hope that helps.

@@Freesciencelessons Thanks a lot for this Shaun. So regarding making digital Flashcards (on the Anki app) should I not make Flashcards to save time? And to memorise the content what do I do? For every video I watch basically, how do I remember everything you say in that video? (Because your vids include everything we need in the AQA spec)

If you think that you will have enough time to watch all the videos at least once AND make flashcards then you could do that. But if you don't have enough time, then watch the videos. You will remember a lot more than you think. If you do want to specifically memorise something (for example something that you struggle with) then make flashcards for that topic. However, a lot of students message me to say that they find they can recall a lot of material simply by watching the videos.

@@Freesciencelessons Here's what I'm currently doing: 1) Watch video and make Anki flashcards alongside. (On everything you say in the video since you directly quote from the AQA spec) 2) Finish workbook (your one) on the topic I watched. This is Active Recall. To see what I can recall from watching the video. Because I don't have much time, Even if I don't understand the video I watched, I'll move on to the next topic because like I said I don't have much time and I need to cover lots of content What do you think of this revision process on a scale of 1-10? What do you think of this reviewing method on a scale of 1-10? And to memorise the content I learn, I review the material like this: Review learnt material 1 day later then 1 week later then 3 weeks later and then 1 month later. And to review the material I'll simply watch your video on the sub-topic then attempt the workbook since it complements your videos. By doing this, I would've gone over content 4 times. What do you think of this reviewing method on a scale of 1-10? And is there anything you would advise me to change?
