There is a specific deadline for medicine and oxbridge applications, I think its October whereas for everything else its January

You have to apply from Sep-Oct in your final year of school. You apply with predicted grades and ur place is only confirmed if you get the grades of your offer x

Congratulations!!! What GCSEs did you get? And what factor did Oxford consider the most? How did you get an offer and what are the interviews like?

Thanks! I got 99999999888. To get on the shortlist for interview (25% of applicants), the most important things are BMAT score + GCSEs. Then after interview, I can't be 100% sure and it probs varies between college, but I imagine how u perform at interview compared to other candidates then becomes the most important, on top of ur personal statement. Idk exactly why I was given an offer but my BMAT score was good enough to shortlist me and then I think my performance in the interviews was good enough? The interviews were fine for me! They were online cos of covid and because I didn't expect to get in, they weren't stressful at all. I was really chill going into it. For medicine u have 3-5 interviews at 2 colleges so its a lot but each is different.

The workload was a lot but I got used to it. You just have to organise your time well. It is also harder to revise when it comes to exams taking 4 subjects but you have to prioritise your weakest areas.

Don't worry, there is still a chance of you getting in! Just focus on making other parts of your application great, like admission tests etc. Also know that Oxford contextualised your GCSE grades, so if you did better than most people at your school, you stand a good chance x

I remember you! It's hell, ngl I was failing for ages. But the only way to do well ( for me ) was to do 1000s practice questions (not the textbook qs though, they r so much easier than acc questions).

Yes, you apply in Sept-Oct and get an offer in Jan. In order to go, u then need to meet the A level grades in ur offer. Your place is only confirmed after results day. Basically every student at the uni belongs to a college, similar to a hall of residence. You live there + ur tutors belong to ur college. You have 1-1 sessions with ur tutor in ur college but lectures happen on a uni wide basis. In each college, 4-6 students will take ur subject in ur year group. And thx sm!!

No- I don't have a scholarship. Most are only given to people from very disadvantaged backgrounds (eg. oxford crankstart scholarship) or on the basis of academic merit, you can receive grants/ scholarships once you get there.
