i needed to hear this, as a black girl who’s been trying to get a Biology degree it’s been hard, really hard and a lot more challenging than i thought. but i have to remember that at one point i did pray for this and i have been blessed over and over again to be here and i have still been unhappy and i’m realizing that it has to do with something i’m going through personally. and i need to act, i plan and obsess over things in my head but i have to change to do better. thanks jade 🙏

Just remember to focus on topics at the appropriate time, don't leave everything till the last minute the stress is too much - don't procrastinate, you have to do the exams in the end might as well do your best - don't be harsh to yourself, everyone else will do that for you - study a couple of hours a day, find methods that allow you to retain the information - it's hard but working a job you hate because you didn't apply yourself is harder -talk to the other students, find out about internships, work experience opportunities - talk to professors they are an important and underrated resource - make sure you get at least 6 months external lab experience - experience is almost more important than the degree - somethings i wish someone would have told me when I was doing my chem/biology degree - the job market is super difficult give yourself the best chance and use all the resources you have while you can You've got this, it's okay to not be happy, don't overthink, ACT, DO !!!

I really, really needed to watch this. Been going through a friendship break up after trying for a triad poly relationship with them. The feelings were there, but way too much past trauma, collectively, and the timing of it all was just so, so bad. I felt so much guilt for causing pain when I just wanted to love and be loved by people I care about, and like...kept elevating and centering everyone else's pain, and striving to understand them and where they were coming from, while lessening myself and making myself smaller in light of the hidden problems that arose. Now I'm looking into doing EMDR because of my own unaddressed traumas that result in devaluing/prostrating myself. Anyway, thank you for being you Jade, and vulnerable with us folk on the world wide webz. It feels a little selfish to say, but seeing people I respect and admire open up about things like this, helps me believe that I can also find it in me to take care of myself first and foremost. Shit's scary af tho, ngl. But we got thiiiis.
