The Tamamo 9 are foxes. Tamamo no Mae is famous Kitsune (Fox-yokai) from Japanese mythology. And Technically Koyanskaya is not one of the Tamamo 9, she is a nature spirit brought into existence by the Tunguska event and modelled her development based on Golden White Face (the aspect of Amaterasu whose incarnation is Tamamo-no-Mae and the Tamamo 9 are her and 8 versions that she spawned when she depowered in the epilogue of Fate/Extra CCC when she cut of the 8 extra tails she had grown while powering up in a kind of time looop). Koyanskya just decided she wanted to follow a similar development path and especilly like Tamamo Vitch of the Tamamo 9.
