During Carnival season you can catch Arthur Hardy on WVUE-TV (FOX 8) and find other stories he does for the station on fox8live.com. Arthur also writes columns for nola.com and is a guest on radio stations and public television. During Carnival season you can catch him all over town at various events and book signings. Also don't forget to get his annual Mardi Gras Guide sold in many outlets in the area.

I really enjoyed this video! Thank you so much for sharing! If you don't already i'd love to see some specials on the women Krewes and those honoring the Native americans. super interesting. loved my visit a few years ago. can't wait to go back :)

Thank you for the suggestions. We have a video of the Mardi Gras Indian Museum here on this page and that is the closest event honoring Native Americans we have in New Orleans. A special on the all female Krewes is needed as more and more entertain the crowds.

Bonjour monsieur Hardy! In this year of the Coronavirus it’s important that we get the information out that carnival was celebrated before the lavish parades we have today and that it is not canceled this year! Joyeux carnaval et Mardi-Gras!

@arthurhardysguidetomardigr9492 I have experienced both! Mobile is safer and more family oriented. So yes, I would prefer Mobile's 😊

@@arthurhardysguidetomardigr9492 you must provide accurate history, Mardi Gras started in Mobile Alabama and it's an entire Museum dedicated to it. I seen that place with my own eyes on my way to New Orleans, currently. Tell the truth. It's not about of it's better than because the people don't think like that when we're all from the same culture.

Did you intentionally omit Mobile, Alabama's (then, French Louisiana) involvement in the inception of New Orleans' Mardi gras, or was it an oversight? 🤔

@@ianmankersen, that American Mardi gras parading concept was a MUTUAL collaboration between Mobile and New Orleans, not a "claiming" as you and other Mobilians always imply, c'est tout! ⚜️

Mardi Gras is the annual Carnival celebration in Mobile, Alabama. It is the oldest official Carnival celebration in the United States, started by Frenchman Nicholas Langlois in 1703 when Mobile was the capital of Louisiana. Mardi Gras originates in Mobile, Alabama.
