This movie was sad but had a happy ending. And what's sad about this movie is there are adults like Miss Minchin that exist in the world that are contemptuous toward children. I'm glad Miss Minchin got fired at the end and Sara got her father back and Becky was set free from that servant job. I'm sure she was sick of slaving around for Miss Minchin day in and day out and being segregated from the other girls.

When Miss Minchin was having a "hard time" telling Sara her father "died" I always thought that she really was having a hard time telling a little girl her father died but now I realize she was figuring out rather or not she would lie to Sara and she did..When that man came to talk to Miss. Minchin he didn't tell her that Sara's father died he most likely told her he was still alive but wounded in battle but Minchin was jealous of Sara's life cause clearly she didn't have a good childhood and wanted revenge and so she took it out on Sara. I do wish we got more of a backstory for Minchin but later when she teared up about Sara asking her if her father ever called her a Princess it was clear that her father either treated her badly or abused her....Which is why she was so cruel and mean....If I were Sarah I would of left the school and looked for housing and work else where..Miss. Minchin had no right to treat Sara that way but she gets hers in the end. Eleanor Bron was so great as Miss. Minchin, I wrote to Eleanor and told her that I did feel sorry for Minchin because of her childhood...I'm sure Minchin just wanted to be loved and hey if she was nicer to not just Sara but Becky and the other girls and even her sister too they would of loved her..So Minchin did have a choice I understood she was most likely a very sad and lonely woman. I did get a very sweet reply from Eleanor with a not and a autograph. She is a great actress and Minchin is a scary but great villain...

he, that man said the late Captain Crew late means passed away. it's clear that lady was so jealous over a little girl who was such a humble and kind. minchin taking that locket like not materialistic to sarah it belonged to her mom and had picture of her father and mother inside like dang this child is grieving like can't give her a little time too to grieve nope up at 5am. That was sadly all too common during that time period. Sara, being born in India, would have been exposed to the world and different cultures. But in the States, the race divide was huge. Sadly Becky would have only been allowed to be a servant because of her race and had no other opportunities.
