Something I suggest you get is flood sensor so that when the basement is flooding when the water reaches the sensor it can cause a supervisory on one of the panels so it could alert you and your mom that the basement is flooding.

I agree! The brushed aluminum trims for these are difficult to find, but I wasn't stopping until I found at least one. Incredibly, I now have two of them.
