What are the results of Dreman`s Value management company over the last 5-10 years?

He shut it down after 2008, So his results are not really relevant since then as it was winding down, though he has had excellent returns for the last 30 year.

He said if a company has very bad news, they'll sell right away. This is not contrarian investing because this is when you want to buy stocks. When a company has bad news, everyone jumps off the ship and sells it because the price is falling, but this is a buying opportunity. You should buy at this point because bad news allows you to buy the stock for cheap. You then hold it while the company fixes the problem and watch as the price rises when people start buying it again when good news comes out in the future. That is what contrarian investing really is.

Bad news mean bad earnings and that means falling share price. There is no point of holding failing company. Ask shareholders of GE.
