Want to see an example of failed socialism?
Go to an Indian Reservation.
Turning Point USA Productions shares the unfiltered stories of the harsh struggles of the Navajo Nation. These raw experiences reveal the individuals, families, and communities torn thin by tyrannical government overreach.
These Navajos expose everything through their personal stories:
“Socialism took my brother.” - Albert, Navajo Business Owner
“I didn’t realize how corrupt things were. My peers, they live in poverty and they don’t even know it.” -Loara, Young Navajo Entrepreneur
“If you can control healthcare, you can control the population.” -Elisa, Navajo Community Activist

I see this and looking back in my youth. I think I lived in socialism, in Sylmar, California. My mom was on welfare, she used all the government programs to be able to make it with 5 kids. When I was about 14, I thought I was to get pregnant and collect welfare to live. Thankfully my mother married a man and he took us to Orange county which was a different life. All the kids at school was working towards college. I thought, wow, is this possible? But because I was Hispanic and I was raised that all rich people are white and we can't ever be rich. So I decided that I'll make it and then I help my family to make it. I ended up moving to Idaho around 30 years old. I finally was able to buy a house and I now live comfortable. I never thought I would. To me, that is rich and I made it. But it was years and years of hard work but made it. I enjoy my freedom in America. I so happy I was born and raised here. I now think all the poor areas in American are stuck in socialism.

It makes me sad that so many have that mentality that they can’t do or be more. The system keeps people in that mentality to stay in control, but we have the power to do and be better if we want it. Like you said lots of hard work, but it is worth it when it’s something we’ve accomplished. Worth it to say government/socialism I don’t need you to keep me down because the possibilities are in my hands and I choose my future. I choose for myself and my family. Congratulations to taking yourself out of that state of mind and passing that along to your family. One at a time the world is changed.

@pipper donnie Your not wrong you know that. The problem is, socialism, capitalism, communism all look good on paper but greed and evil destroys the good intentions. Capitalism encourages innovation and competition but also uses a massive sector of the citizens for “slave labor” as you said to barely make ends meet and not have health care while the presidents and ceos are getting record profits. Socialism isn’t ugly, it’s just when it’s implemented by ugly evil people it gets distorted. Bad and good is possible with any situation in life when you throw humans in as a variable.

No, the moderate democrats sat back and allowed the socialists take power over their party. Biden is just a doddering old fool that is the trojan horse for the radical left. You don't even have to be a republican to see right through that.

Brandon Bebonang - The very system that created your “reservation” is based in socialism. Separate, sequester and steal. Socialism separates your thinking processes, sequesters you physically, mentally and psychologically and then steals whatever is left. I see so many parallels between the Native American peoples and my Native Hawaiian people. We have “reservations” called “Hawaiian Homelands”. To make Hawaiians feel good about themselves they (government) ‘give’ Hawaiians the opportunity to ‘own’ a home. Using the word ‘own’ is tricky because you have to build the home but the land isn’t yours. So once you pass away with no apparent heirs, it goes back to the government. You sign a 99 year lease that’s purely feel good but you get nothing tangible out of it. A lot of Hawaiians live off of welfare, food stamps (ebt) and other government hand outs. Drug and alcohol abuse is rampant. Self reliance is only afforded to the most forward thinkers. Even though I could have qualified for Hawaiian Homelands I told myself no. I’ll do it the hard way and start my own business and work hard because that’s the only path to The American Dream. Whenever you sign onto taking handouts from the Democratic Party (FDR’s New Deal, LBJ’s The Great Society) you’re signing on to your own bondage because it’ll never give you enough to thrive, only enough to live...if even that. These programs were put in place to control swaths of people and to sell back your freedom. It’s programs of bondage that is still around today, woven into the fabric of our society. In effect, these programs imprison you with “free stuff” and make you reliant on that next check with no way of breaking that bond. You can’t get a “pay increase” on welfare unless you keep spitting out kids and that just further increases your reliance. Inner city Blacks, Indigenous Peoples like the Native Americans and the Native Hawaiian are all “controlled” by these measures. This is the kind of things that you’ll never learn in schools. Academia is under the leftists thumb, as is Hollywood, the mainstream media and the deep state. How can you fight it? The only way we’ve ever fought oppression... educate yourself. Seek the truth. Open your eyes to the deception. And then vote! Don’t vote a Party... vote in someone that will help free your mind and give you back your freedom. True freedom. Not a freedom that is tethered to anything. A freedom that allows for the learning of our past as a country even though it might hurt to read because no country is perfect just as no man is perfect. But true freedom is only being offered by one candidate during this cycle. Only one candidate has the minority employment rate down to its lowest in the history of our country (pre-pandemic). Only one candidate has vowed to bring home the troops from overseas and has actually done it. Only one candidate stands with our men and women in law enforcement. Only one candidate has eased regulations for small businesses and has allowed mine to flourish and grow even during a pandemic. I’ll let you decide but one guy has been in public office for 47 years and actually got richer while the other guy has been in there for 47 months and lost net worth, donates all his paychecks to charities across the nation and has actively worked for the American people. It’s not about a Party... it’s about the track record for the American people. In 2016, for the first time in 25 years I didn’t vote because I believed the mainstream media but I also knew how corrupt the Democratic candidate was. I was a guy that said that I’d be better off moving to Canada! I almost did... but I waited and I watched and even though Donald Trump can be bullheaded, arrogant, cocky and brash... he’s passionate about the American people and THAT’S what I want from my Commander is Chief! I spent the last 2-3 years following and listening and educating myself and with the help of organizations like #tpusa I’ve had my eyes opened and will never fall into the Democratic Plantation again! Don’t listen to me... do your own research. Compare Cuban programs, Venezuelan programs, Chinese Communist Party programs and see how much they align with American Socialism because when you do that honestly, you’ll see so many similarities. I know this is long and likely nobody will read it but when I hear Native people say the things you did it strikes a cord in my heart and mind. Take care my friend and God Bless!

As a navajo, I have seen this negative effects. This video depicts the horrors of colonialism. Although it needs to be mentioned that the long walk was a product of capitalism. Capitalist needed the native lands to further pursue wealth. The abuse on the long walk caused a cycle of abuse on the reservation. I know many that have been abused and this has produced trauma. Just recently my cousin committed suicide. There a deep and heavy burden that my people carry from the atrocities committed under the authority of the US Government. We can not treat each other in ways we have in the past.

"The abuse on the long walk caused a cycle of abuse on the reservation. I know many that have been abused and this has produced trauma... There a deep and heavy burden that my people carry from the atrocities committed under the authority of the US Government..." Yes, the government was horrible to many natives in years past, but it's time to move on and stop abusing each other, and stop abusing alcohol. I live in central Canada and am poor, so I have spend years living near and being friends with many Aboriginals. There was pain in the past, but there's also a shitload of blaming others, instead of taking responsibility for their own lives and their own actions. Even in this video I see it, blaming "socialism" instead of your parents or your own choices.

@@tyrroo Thanks for your reply. I wish I could say it’s in the past. As of today, of the Navajo population 10% are without electricity and 30% are without water. Our recent battle with COVID-19, left us without many of the needed supplies and support promised by the government. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5qaoXmcpbyZr7s We are making a great comeback with the help of many individuals and organizations. I completely agree that we all have our ability to choose. It’s a little hard to blame someone for drowning when you are still holding them under water. I personally believe that the pains and traumas all people carry, place a burden that might make it harder for some to do what those without trauma do with ease. I believe that our current President Trump shares your same viewpoint. In fact he might also blame you for your current circumstances of being poor. Yet he has lived a live free from monetary burdens. By having empathy we can stop abusing others and instead of blaming we will try to help each other. My hope is that one day soon, we will all treat each other with respect and dignity.

Everything that you stated is correct and its a true horror and presently also a horror especially for loosing a brother, no words to describe! Please understand that any taking of land or people or abuse of people is not freedom. Capital may come from it but it isn't moral it isnt freedom it isn't what should be in any land! America was not built on one thing but many things, some good but many bad! Europeans came here in a minority of those fleeing tyranny but the majority came here with tyranny being their goal. The GOP is full of bad people as is the Democrat party past and present. Past and present both parties also had individuals who stood for betterment of others rather than corruption to gain for themselves. Evil goes back to James Town but not everyone who came to Americas from Europe was corrupt like the James Town people. The Plymouth people were not corrupted to seek glory and wealth at the expense of other, though not perfect either. The US is far from perfect and likely will fail. That fight is not to go into hell from that failure but to undercut that failure and innovate ways to shield and unite each other. Socialism and capitalism both have failed.

@@tyrroo Not sure how Canada is but in the US the reservations are from treaties and all or most treaties are broken by the US, this is a system of failure with many good people involved but also many bad people dishonoring Indiginous and dishonoring themselves. After so many years its difficult to see what is good and what is to be rejected. Native Americans have a better idea of how to solve this than any other person regarding the reservation system, while also being in deep struggle. As a whole the US of any ethnicity has also been under a unaccountible federal reserve and the innability to fight real monopolies of power and fascism which exist through many people struggling in freedom while others are allowed passes through tax free foundations and mega bank loans with dollars that prop up banks as printed but once cirulated those printed dollars imidiately loose value and destroy the value of anyone not in the top. That is facism and the federal reserve and income tax are the two biggest crimes in the 20th century financially speaking, setting the US overall into socialism, the reservation system being an extension of that but even more targeted. Treaty for getting land back is good, but everything else being socialist breadcrumbs. The same thing happens throughout the world via the corrupt state department and corrupt CIA.

But then as soon as this was enacted onto the people, the tribes had to live in enclosed areas, so that capitalists could create farms and railroads and businesses? Almost as if it was the installation of capitalist property relations which caused them this amount of suffering!

Thus is very true! Since childhood I remember having commodity foods, clothing distribution in the schools, being told what you can and can’t do. continuously. The Navajo tribe and government saying you can do this, you cannot do that. You do not have the authorization to do this. It has to be approved. After a lifetime of hearing this, why do you think many of the Navajo people do not establish any state of independency. Living on the reservation doesn’t allow you to build your own house and to resell that home. Thus, I always tell my Navajo family and friends to build OFF the reservation and establish equity. That’s where real wealth starts. We are not given that option LIVING IN OUR HOMELAND.

This is the case for nearly every reservation in the US. If you truly want to fulfill your dreams and aspirations, you have to escape the cycle of being in the socialist slave systems that are layered into every aspect of reservation life. Living off the rez presents it's own set of challenges, but it is a life limited by your own skillset...a skillset in which you can change, get better, and thrive. I grew up on the rez, know all about hauling water, chopping wood, living on commodity food, getting substandard health care, empty political promises, and still grieve for the many friends and family who could not escape substance abuse issues. Time has changed, but the rez is still the same; stuck in the 1960's infrastructure with modern technology clashes and a mostly undereducated population who can only see inside the barbed wire.

This issue deserves a better documentary. This is barely even a documentary. This just felt like straight-up anti-socialist propaganda without trying to line up the evidence. "My brother died of alcohol abuse... because of socialism... socialism sucks!" It felt like there was a producer telling the interviewees to slip that in as often as possible. Nah, you need to do a better job connecting the concepts. It suffers from what so many documentaries fall into - long fades and way too much music and graphics, rather than more dense expository interviews and data. And it needs to explain better why it is socialism as opposed to capitalism and colonialism responsible for the devastation, as you can see from the comments below. But I will say kudos to at least raising awareness about this issue and that there are Native Americans awake to the dangers of socialism and leftism. So I hope there will better media in the future to come about this issue.

What is a bit infuriating about this video is they actually give a fairly good definition of socialism around 1:04 noting it is about things "being owned or regulated by the community as a whole" but then keep calling things that fail that definition to be "socialism." For example, around 4:26, they show one women complaining about how other people, *not* her community, controlled the education. So, by the definition we were provided in this vey video, that cannot be socialism. And yet...that is what it was being called. 🤦 But it's not surprising. I dealt with a MAGA a couple years ago who ignored the definition of socialism I gave him and proceeded to use his own definition which is one of government making decisions, a definition that seems to very much fit the scenarios in this video being labeled as "socialism," even though the government is *not* the community. (Given that we live in a democracy, it sort of is...but, not only does it often not give people an equal voice, it often leaves many people out of the process, a problem noted in this video.) Unsurprisingly, this definition of government making decisions gets ignored by the MAGA when it comes to, say, police or the military. So, really, a more accurate definition of "socialism," as used in videos like this, is "whatever government program MAGAs don't like."
