Excellent horn playing by all the bands, including the redcoats (Brits) off camera to the right. In the fuzzy thinking and immature world of You Tube comments we can't say this strongly enough: Germany since unification is a modern democratic forward looking nation of good people. Our friends and allies now and we hope forever. While we cannot change the past, we must not be prisoners of the past. German military, we love and admire you, and most of all we thank good fortune you are with us now. I'll have a beer on that (haha good German beer).

Hard to believe but the French army went to war in 1914 in uniforms only slightly different from this French army band. Longer greatcoats and perhaps a lighter blue kepi. But red trousers and no helmet. Attired in these gaudy colors they were slaughtered, more than 200,000 casualties the first 12 months.
@eoindee70073 жыл бұрын
That's correct Jack. Then they changed to the grey/blue uniform synonymous with French troops at the somme and Verdun. To be honest the British army had the most practical uniform of ww1, although ultimately the Germans produced the best helmet ultimately. Kind regards.

@@jackmorrison7379 Holy cow,, are you saying Bach and Beethoven are great Germans, but Hitler and the Third Reich should just be forgotten as an aberration of history? Modern Germans indeed! William II, Bismarck, and Hitler were all once "modern Germans/Prussians". Grow up. NEVER forget who Germans are and ALWAYS judge them by what they did. Viva Vichy fits France perfectly. The French made their peace with Hitler, fired on the British navy, and opposed Operation Torch. If you like the patriotism of Quisling, then you should love the Vichy French. Know your history and the truth will set you free.

@@scanida5070 I understand that and the impression that everyone is supposed to have is that this is still a celebration of lasting peace and truce between Germany and England; Im sure to these soldiers it actually feels and appears that way... What it is in reality however, is symbolic in commemoration of 2 successful attempts on part of the Rothschild banking dynasty to bring Germany to heel with their agenda over the last century. This is a celebration of the fact that Germany no longer presents an obstacle to the destruction of traditional European values and culture and now instead participates in the charade.
