I was a choirboy here in the early 1960s. It brings back so many memories, Mr Colley was the choirmaster/organist and the Rev. Temple the vicar. Bittersweet memories flood back but it was my church where I was christened and confirmed. So many years ago, in fact, a lifetime.

When I was 16 I ran away to Portsmouth from Bath. I stayed a few years and got a job at St James psychiatric hospital. Where I stayed for a few years . I married a ex sailor and lived in Chichester Rd . Great place but I ended up back in the West Country but very fond memories of Pompey x thanks

I've just viewed this on my iPhone 5. Unfortunately, none of the sound from people being interviewed came through, and I could hear ONLY the Narrator and the background music 😢

No, the church was not financed by 'the First Sea Lord'! As it shows on the screen, it was 'the First Lord of the Admiralty', quite a different post.
