I've ran the old style on my 03 z71 an jus now purchased the new sm style for my 2500hd. They have changed since this video. No more polyurethane bushings, back to harden rubber like stock which is cool. But the maintenance free ball joint is a mistake....

Maintenance free doesn’t mean worry free add a grease zerk to the new ones

I disagree!! I install a lot of these and see downsides to this new design. If thats the reason because no one is greasing them, wtf thats common maintenance. Older style is a breeze to replace and bushings and balljoints at a good price. Now when they wear out your gonna have to go through the pain of pressing them in and out, risk damaging the part, risk damaging the powder, and taking way more labor. At that point some people might just buy a whole new arm! Is that what its actually for? Lol. Changing powder color, anything is gonna be a pain now🤦‍♂️

Agreed. Who in their right mind, that spends the cash for these specialty parts, doesn't bother to grease them regularly? I absolutely want something that I can maintain, not something that is destined to degrade further and further because it's "maintenance free".

Im getting a bunch of squeaking, clanking from front, driver side. When I turn the wheel back and fourth it squeak’s really bad. Just replaced upper A arms. Think its the lower ball joints?

does the Press in ball joint still bolt to the uca for easy trail repair or are they a true press in and press out ball joint

Total noob here. Where does the brake line go on the new UCA? I noticed on my current it’s bolted into the UCA. 2019 Sierra 1500

on a leveled AT4 lift do you recommend a diff drop kit?.....they arent in your leveling kits and at what height is this necessary? i talked to baja kits and they said not needed for coilover lift up to 4 inches which doesnt make sense because lifting is lifting regardless i would think but maybe i am missing something?.......i have your UCAs on my 21 GMC elevation with AT4 strut lift.....

Hi Joe, yes the ball joints are replaceable. The simply come pre-installed in the arm for convenience.

@@estebane.4030 Unfortunately there isn't enough room on that model year for this style of ball joint, so we will not be offering it for that vehicle. The ball joint body is much larger than the bolt-in ball joint.
