if your talking about plunderphonics, you gotta Mention Endtroducing by DJ Shadow, made in 1996, over 900 samples were used to construct this album. and he became a pioneer for instrumental hip hop in the process.

wasn't it 1996? and yes it is the best instrumental hip-hop album of all time

SILY is one of my favorite albums of all time, and what got me into plunderphonics/turntablism. My favorite track usually changes, but currently it's Etoh, which has a really exotic feeling? Like you just stepped foot into a rainforest. It's always interesting listening to the album with the original concept in mind - Pablo's cruise is almost directly from that storyline they originally had. Have you listened to With My baby, the removed track? I feel like it helps the transition between Stay another Season and Radio so much, whereas in the final release it's just a crossfade. Also shoutouts to DJ Dexter. He did the scratching on the album and so they sampled his rap group in Flight Tonight.

I agree, Etoh is the best but its very hard to decide

Listen to this album with care. There's nothing like it. It's without a doubt the most impactful and for lack of a better word, profound, piece of music, I have ever listened to in my life. We're blessed.

Really? Not heard any music actually written by the people putting the record out? No classical? No blues? No rock? Surely an album consisting entirely of clips of other people's music cannot, by definition, be the most profound music?

Shhh....you're not allowed to like that particular track. It's too commercially successful. You have to like the more obscure ones. Damned noobs.

I remember my buddy recommended this album to me around 6 or so years ago. It was around the time Pokemon Go came out, so I used to drive around at night, park at places to catch Pokemon and listen to this album. I genuinely couldn't believe how great it was. It's a very nostalgic album for me now.

I have the colored vinyl myself I got from Turntable Lab, it's super good but the bass is a little iffy if you're a stickler about that. Now do a video on Wildflower. (just kidding do whatever you want I'm just so glad you did something on The Avalanches) The Bandstand video is very outdated though, with outdated info and more samples and discoveries still being made. Electricity is the only track on the album that wasn't originally made for it to my knowledge, and the female vocals was an Australian opera singer they picked up.

I’m so conflicted. On one hand, I love this album. On the other hand, the latter half of the album has some tracks that could be cut. The first half of Summer Crane is just a worse Extra Kings, and Live at the Dominoes is just a worse Radio. Little journey is just kinda weird. But I’m mainly mad because they had to remove With My Baby. That track is so amazing, I swear it was so close to being a 10/10
