I was one of the lucky ones who had a fantastic childhood growing up Aveley I'm 47 now and me and my friends still about how lucky we were growing up in here, when ever I go back now and see how they have built on all it's green land brings a tear to my eye.

I went to Aveley Tech (Aveley County Technical High School) in 1961. A great school. We were proud to wear our maroon blazers.

I went to aveley secondary school, my grandad would play tennis and cricket at the firemans clubs.

I’m from aveley and my family are, Ive now moved away and it was prob the best choice, becasue it’s nothing how aveley used to be, top house pub, the ship pub, the old working mans club, I still remember the story behind the house at the subway, there was allegedly a tunnel what went underground from the house to the Thames, but that was a myth of that tunnel, Kennington park fishing lake has been destroyed by waste!

I actually live in Aveley, they made a new village there and it’s really modern and yet they still use the old shops that used to be there.
