I am so proud of you 🥹 I’ve been here for years, since your fertility journey with your daughter. Our daughters are close in age and our journeys have so many parallels it’s been so fun to be on this journey “with” you. I’m so happy for your family and can’t wait to see what you achieve this year. Go Lauren!!! 🎉❤

Regarding credit card debt, I could not agree with you more. When we (Sue and I) started thinking about we should pay down some debt we were in disagreement on where to start, Sue wanted to pay down the CCs, I wanted to pay off our home. I won the battle (barely) but once we paid it off a month break and on to the CCs. We had 5 cards total $29K. At the start we were semi-serious but as we made progress, we ramped it up. When I think back at it I'm so mad at myself for this but it is all history now. Today if we use a CC which is rare we pay it off as soon as the charge is posted. I also agree with you whole heartly, investing is much more fun than paying off debt! Well wishes to you and husband!

Great job Lauren! Just one thing - Dave Ramsey is fine w the coffees out as long as you budget for them!!! If you give yourself a line item for coffees then you are staying in your budget and there in lies the freedom! Love your channel

This is the first video of yours that I have come across. I have to say, "Well done!" regarding your progress. I am on my own journey to become debt free, but from a vastly different starting point! I am a 68 year old low-income senior. In 2023, I paid off my 3 credit cards, got my budgeting system really working well by the end of the year, and sinking funds well underway. I only have my line of credit to pay off now, which will take about 3 years. I have always owned my cars, and I am hoping mine will last another 2 years. I have an investment coming due then, which will be enough to purchase another "new-to-me" car. It seems to be slow going at times, but it is so worth it in the end. Luckily, I am in excellent health and enjoying my retirement. I am not willing to go back to work as long as I am managing on this path. It took me a long time to get into this much debt, so looking at 3 years to get out doesn't seem too bad!

Your journey has truly helped me to make better financial decisions. My husband and I were blessed with money from my grandma when she passed. My husband and I paid off EVERYTHING!!!! We have one credit card left and it only has a couple thousand on it. We're trying to utilize not having thousands of dollars in CC debt monthly, to help build our emergency funds! Your videos have been such a blessing to watch and gave us confidence! Thank you for sharing, I'm so proud of you 😘😊

I have enjoyed all your videos immensely.....However, in the interests of full disclosure ( and certainly correct me if I am incorrect) did no got get some sort of windfall (inheritance? ) which allowed you to pay off a large chunk of your debt?

I started watching at the end of 2020 when I was getting ready to buckle down and kick the student loans and some credit card debt that was lingering-- since them I am 100% done with student loans, no car payments (bought a card half way through for cash) and it feels amazing-- Next year I want to build up a bigger savings cushion, start planning for future real estate dreams and max out my retirement.. It has been so nice to have your videos to keep motivated and pace myself... keeping that last loan may help towards maintaining your credit score and getting your next home when the time comes so no harm there as long as you keep the diligence

Our debt journey started in 2011. Stuf happened and we built up a lot of debt over the next 5 years. We refinanced our house at a lower rate and fewer years and rolled a lot of that debt into it in 2018 and have been working on the rest since. In that time more stuf happens and our debt goes down, then back up. We are buckling down this year to pay off 2 credit cards and 1 loan, about 25k. 🤞And other goals for savings, etc.

You are such a good inspiration! By the time we pay off the last car, we will have paid over 170,000 in debt. Thankfully it wasn't all at once, whenever we'd pay one thing off something else huge would come up. Praying and working towards this finally being the year we are debt free 🤞🏼

Been watching your channel for about two years and I am so happy for you and your family. You have been great stewards of your money and the universe continues to bless you for it. I am starting my own business to make more money this year and your budget videos will keep me on track! You should read this book called perfectly miserable by Sarah Stuart, it’s a funny read about Massachusetts social circles and real estate I’d think you’d like it lol

A. Can we talk about those light fixtures !! Are you an apartment DIYer?!! ❤ B. Love following you. C. Thoughts on paying off car payment? I go back and forth on this one because i’m in LA it feels like car payments will be inevitable with the mileage we put on them. I almost feel like it’s better to accumulate that cash for any repairs needed or a new down. 😅

Good progress and well done but I’m surprised you refer to ‘technical debt’; the fact is at 67k you still have significant debt and a way to go. I would also point out that Dave Ramsey (who has been helping people get out of debt and build wealth for decades) doesn’t say ‘don’t buy coffee’ , what he advises is to have a strict budget and stick to it and if you want to include coffee then do so. In my view, anyone who seriously wants to build a stable financial future and indeed wealth, would be well advised to follow Dave Ramsey.
