A Look Back on the Impact of East Los High | American Latino

For over five years, the Hulu series East Los High has provided us with one of the few major productions that prominently feature English speaking Latinos. In this award winning, breakthrough show, we got a chance to finally see ourselves. But East Los High was more than just a show about young Latinos, it was a series that tackled some serious subjects, from drug addiction to domestic abuse. And it did in a way that always held its character sin high regard. Now the show wraps its final season. And we had stars Vanessa Vasquez, Danielle Vega, and Alex Hernandez join us for a look back at East Los High, right here on American Latino TV.

yeah, I'm still pissed East Los is over, especially bc it was the first time I saw an afro-latina in a film/ tv show (that was American) that wasn't on love and hip hop and it gave a sense of belonging into our culture. Besides East Los were never seen, never spoken about, and always forgotten as far as representation or were represented by someone who hates their blackness and sees it as a disability. #bringbackeastloshigh
