Unfortunately with the CGI rule I disagree but part of what made Jurassic Park have a greater impact was that the effects were so good. Yes there is a character being portrayed and that is a little more important but the dinosaurs are animals and when we aren't convinced by what we see then we aren't invested as much. Its not so much that the CG models were unconvincing hell they are better than 1993, the unfortunate aspect of the CGI was the blending into their environments and their movements. The film looked and felt very cartoony or need more tuning and when we go from being amazed by the realism of the original trilogy to very cartoony "movie" dinosaurs its just whiplash.

One of the raptors gets blown up by a rocket launcher in JW. One person told me that the raptor that saved Owen as the others was the one that was allegedly blown up, and survived. But I dont think thats the case, Blue was knocked against a building, and If I were to take Muldoon's (Novel version) word for it, dinosaurs are HARD to kill, and pretty slow to die as well. One of the soldiers blows up a raptor with a launcher. Wether he got away in the cars that Barry (Omar Sy) saw the soldiers get into, is anyone's guess.

An absolute rule: If there are other hybrids, please, please do not hesitate to maintain a balanced mix of them and real dinosaur genera in the next movie. Failing in this risks alienating people who like to have their dinosaurs recognizable and genuinely animalistic even if and when they lack feathers. In fact, go further and bring in feathered purebreeds to act as a third balancing factor to the classic representations just to keep the more sensitive paleo-purists at least a little more content. The tools to do so are established in the lore of the film universe. *Use Them!*

I think that animatronics should be used in the raptor harness scenes because it would just be amazing to see something real breath and move it's eyes. You forget that animatronics have also evolved and perhaps are able to do the actions you mentioned. Also what do you think of the fact that Nick Robinson said the apatosaurus was the last animatronic.

JW kinda broke the rule to feel like a JP film to me JW mostly didnt felt JP to me but some parts do. I think JW showed too much of Irex, they could of have it less screen time like the same amount as raptors in JP1 where they are shown fully near the end of the film I felt Irex need that tbh.

Great vid jack! I think u have started something now that u cant stop doing! Maybe do the same sort of video for jp5/jw2 but add new "must have or do nots" into the video based on what we now know. For example The next jp must continue with the family or a family connection being in peril. Thats just an example whether u agree or not. Just an idea.

Looks like a lot of the rules set in the old video where followed, and a few were broken, and even ideas that sounded ludicrous at the time could give way to promising scenarios in the next two films. JW broke the mold on a lot of counts, but didn't fall apart as a Jurassic Park movie. I still argue that the film is smarter than the reputation it's gotten; it's got subtle moments of intelligence intermingled with some understandably questionable moments. Obviously the CGI vs Animatronics ratio will always be a huge source of contention; ideally I would like a good balance of both. Before the Apatosaurus animatronic was commissioned, Universal were very stingy with allowing practical dinosaurs because the film was not expected to be the No. 1 hit of the summer. As it stands, the use of CGI in Jurassic World doesn't bother me because a lot of it was near perfect.

Since we're over two and a half years away from the Jurassic World sequel, I don't think that now's a good time to start despairing and giving up on the prospect of animatronics returning. As you probably remember, that old interview with Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins that recently surfaced was made before the film hit cinemas and made the kind of box office success that it had. Until official word from Spielberg, Trevorrow or a Universal executive comes in, I'm not holding an old interview to mean anything from the core production team.

Exactly, its 3 years away and anything could happen. Not to mention Colin tweeted today wondering where the fans got the "no animatronics" news from. Even he seems surprised.

Agree with you on almost everything, although out running a T-Rex while wearing heels is kinda stupid xD
@JackAnthonyEwins8 жыл бұрын
+Kitty Chan I did not care for the heels. My eyes were turned towards the badass dinosaur fight that was about to go down! However Colin has stated that the heels were more of a metaphor for Claire's character. The fact that she didn't need to remove a classic female item of clothing for her to still be a kick-ass character.
@KTcattProductions8 жыл бұрын
+Jack Anthony Ewins I completely forgot to reply to his, cause it was super late where I live. But man, like even if its a cool director idea, it doesn't really make sense; I mean in Jurassic Park they barely got away from the T-Rex in a jeep (until she leaves) so running from it in general seems a bit far fetched even if it does make her seem more "kick-ass", also they have confirmed that the heels aren't going to be in the sequel so, I don't really see the point of them to be honest. But as a director's choice it is interesting, but not sensible. And obviously the dinosaur fight was awesome, and the heels didn't ruin my enjoyment but I had a slight moment of "are seriously doing that?" Still a fun film to watch.
@JackAnthonyEwins8 жыл бұрын
Difference is during the jeep scene the T-rex was running at full speed, in JW she's pretty much walking out from her paddock. Plus Claire only had to cover a short difference to the Indominus. It's not that far fetched.
