Couple of questions: What age/grade/skill level are the dart guides recommended for? I know it gave the weekly flow/checklist, did it have any more suggestions for scheduling? And did you feel there was enough teacher help/ explanation on the literary devices/grammar concepts? Lastly, how did you fit this in with TGTB?

They have 3 levels, Dart, Arrow, and Boomerang. Dart is for 8-10 year olds. The Dart Guidelines (comes with the purchase) does have sample routines included where they show a daily breakdown for each (I thought this was super helpful). Within the actual Dart literature pack itself, I felt that there was enough information for me as the teacher to explain things. It provides very basic and easy to explain information for each item...not too wordy at all in my opinion. I will actually have a video coming out later this week detailing my thoughts on using this for the first time and how I implemented it while still using TGTB. I'll also include a closer look at the sample routines included in the guidelines.

Thank you so much for this video. I purchased the year long program, but I've been feeling too overwhelmed to start. Thanks to your information I discovered I was missing an entire section of the curriculum. Now it's making much more sense. You are awesome!

I'm glad you found this helpful! One reason I made this video is because I knew I couldn't have been the only one a little confused at first lol Thank you for watching!

Thanks for the look inside! I'm thinking about getting this Dart to go along with Build Your Library since Charlotte's Web is our next literature book.

So, do you read the book entirely. And then do the work for 4 weeks? Or do you go through this as you go through the book??
@onecaffeinatedmom3 жыл бұрын
Yes, we did read the entire book and I worked through the literature guide as we read. We finished reading the book before getting to the 4th week though, so we just did the work for that week after we were done with the book.

Do these literature singles work on writing skills?
@onecaffeinatedmom Жыл бұрын
In short, yes. However, it’s not the same as you would usually find in say like workbooks. The exercises are more so laying the foundation for writing skills through things like dictation and pointing out things like punctuation and format within the text being discussed. There weren’t any exercises like writing prompts.

Do you think you could do this as language arts and supplement with some grammar and spelling?
