It seems harsh but stealing things in a country where most of the people only earn a couple of dollars a day is dangerous. People don't have time for courts and legal maneuvering. They and their neighbors will lynch a thief right there and then as a deterrent. That's why most thieves run straight to the police if caught stealing.

It still save but its getting dirty rubbish everywhere because since yaya is gone no Saturday clean have place. They don't want to accept that to move country forward the people need to change . No news. All African prisons are like this. This one is a little bit improved coz I saw some mattresses and blankets. Most prisons inmates have to farm there own food. Buckets are the only means of convenience and they're inside a cell with 1 small window with 100 of inmates. Imagine the stench. You should fight every day for sleeping rights. Weak inmates are the ones to dispose of waste buckets. I found a guy who has spent 10yrs on remand for stealing a chicken and he is awaiting trial. The reason I was put in prison I was arrested for idle and disorderly that took me 9months to serve until my family paid a ransom. In Africa just have money, don't talk abt the government then every thing will be alright
