Also don't forget Techno Music, started by 3 Black men from Detroit and co-opted by Europeans.
@freckleheckler63114 жыл бұрын
Techno music was never invented by black people. Those very same artists gave credit and attributed it to German band kraftwerk. Kraftwerk themselves as a band have the richest musical influence in history. They laid the blueprint for modern music. The beats used in hip-hop, edm, pop, synth pop etc can be traced back to Kraftwerk

@@freckleheckler6311 Know better. Do better. Techno as a genre was invented in Detroit by Black men. Learn some history. Get a clue. It's fully documented. Kraftwerk inspired the musicians that created the genre. Why must White people insist on claiming Black culture. Next it will be White people invented Jazz, Blues, Hip Hop, Rock and Roll and every other genre of music created by Black people. Dealing with white people appropriating and co-opting our cultural heritage is exhausting!

When people say culture in American KNOW they are talking about Ethnic groups. White people made the term BLACK CULTURE it was used as a method of fear and division. UNDERSTAND you have to know what defines a culture. A culture is agreed laws, norms, values, language, arts, music and possibly but not exclusive ethnic identity and religion( that means you can have multiple ethnic groups and share the same culture). How does the word culture reference or applicable to black people in america. Black Americans share the same culture as white Americans. So where did this term come from... white people who used it to say you dont want that culture in your neighborhood but what they are referring to is ethnic group but when you say culture it just as a non existent variable and it leave the person to imagine what that culture might be. When i hear black people say black culture it shocks me that they have accepted that form of division, when they really mean black ART or History etc... do not use the term black culture unless you are referring Africans or societies like Haiti.

dont be mad dude you are attacking there very identity. they will always be black. and have a sense of community. so them having a culture is bad? they will always have a black culture, but as long as there is opp from a police force or society they will have edgy anti establishment views. but keep in mind black people right now, the majority, are apart of this, and dont want it taken away. tehy are different from other racial groups, they need to preserve there cultura roots and heritage and its hardest for them. there cool styles and dance are there own, and white people have taken it with no respect years ago.

@littlegothgirl88693 жыл бұрын
Umm, this is egregiously false. Culture is through language, art, and also a shared history too. AA culture is definitely influenced by our West African heritage, so to say that it is white peoples culture too makes no sense. We all celebrate and participate in this culture but it indeed has its origins with black people and their experiences in the U.S. We didn't create the term black but because we were stripped of parts of our identity, "black" is synonomous with our culture and denying that just because you love the culture does a disservice to the people that created it.
@littlegothgirl88693 жыл бұрын
You also say the words "black culture" should not be used unless for ex: Haitians and Africans. That doesn't make sense. We didn't chose to be in a predominately non black society or to not have knowledge of our original cultures. Which is why we chose the terms black or African American. The origins of our culture differed from the dominant society in many ways. Just because you may or may not be knowlegable of the cultural anthropology of AAs, does not mean that the connections to our West African heritage do not exist. Just because we share our culture and America takes from black culture does not mean it is not distinct in its own right. The dominant group in society came up with the word black. WE came up with the term black culture. Btw, America is already divided and has been throughout its history. People getting angry at us for using the term "black culture" is usually because of ignorance or people wanting to deny African Americans their own sense of culture.

It's different by how ring shout, AAVE, the dances, soul food, art, mannerisms are completely different from ole English, Shakespeare, opera ect. When blacks were doing blues, ringshout, rap ect it was highly frowned upon and coined as "nggr babble". Its only when white Americans saw how many gravitated to these deplorable forms of art did they seek to monetize/capitalize off it. Then it became apart of "American culture"
