I was at the depth of life in a mental hospital, It was a Christian unit. I wanted out! One patient gave me the Way Bible. I cried because I would never be able to belong. Another patient gave me a cassette Age to Age. God let me know through the honesty in Amy Grants music it wasn't about me but Him and He loved me in my brokenness. That was 32 years ago. Thank you Amy for your truth in music. Ian able to Praise Him in my brokenness.

I've met this woman a few times. Besides having a beautiful voice and musical talent, I can say she is the real deal. Not one spec of "celebrity" about her, she is a warm, genuine and truly kind soul. I had the chance to see her perform again recently with my family and she gave my 9 yr old daughter and self-proclaimed future singer/songwriter (!) some great advice and listened to her, even though I'm sure she was tired and prob just wanted to be on her way. I grew up with in the church of Christ and it still blows me away how judgemental and downright cruel people can be. Keep on doing what you do, Amy- goodness, strength and GENUINE faith and kindness will always "Find a Way." ❤🎶 ☀🌹

I love Amy Grant, she's my all time favorite singer/songwriter. I became a Christian listening to her music back in the 80's. Her songs aren't as preachy as other Christian artists. Her songs are about life. Jesus said to go out into the world and teach the gospel. You have to go out into the world to do that and, that's what she's done. She's a great lady.

Every interview I've ever seen of her (with her) she has this incredibly wonderful way of recall, she does the classic look down and to the right, or a simple turn to the right and you know she is pulling from truth. When she expresses it's the gleeful left glance. These are classic symptoms of a heart on sleeves person. Truth and expression easily flow from her and it's been this incredible gift she's shared with the world.

My introduction to Christian music was Amy Grant. She was just a few years older than I. As the years went on, her songs seemed to always speak to my situation, be it good or bad, right or wrong. When I went through a divorce, I was surprised to find out she had gone through one and her new album that year really touched and started the healing process in my heart which I desperately needed. Remember that God uses everything for the Good for those who love Him - the good, the bad, the right, the wrong… No human is perfect, we all make mistakes. Anyone who ostracizes someone - especially when they don't know the person or their circumstances - should not themselves be claiming to be a Christian. Jesus did not run around judging people - he loved people and accepted them for who and where they were, right in the moment. He pointed out changes they needed to make, but never turned them away. We all can and should learn from everything that happens to us. Use what you learn to help others in their time of need.

Amy's Poem- It occurred to me this morning, as I washed this face of mine How quickly come the changes with a little passing time. A wrinkle here, a hair turned grey, a not so lilting step~ I see me getting older, but I don't quite feel it yet. At times I nearly feel my age ~ at others I'm 16. So full am I of all the thoughts and feelings in-between. Who could have known the road of life would twist and turn so much. The journey makes me strong and weak, and tender to the touch. And so today I face the choice that I face each day Will I be; open, teachable unafraid of change ? Yes! Wisdom and experience resting on each face.

I've had idols before and Amy Grant has always been one of my favorites, but after hearing her recite her poem and wipe the tear from her eye, she is now my True Hero

This will make you ponder. Amy Grant says her mother used to say on their way home from church about God, "You know, He doesn't have any grandchildren, only children." Basically, you cannot be the child of a person of faith. You need that relationship with God yourself. Now I say, like our relationship with our earthly parents and grandparents, when it's personal it matters. A word of wisdom or a hug, these things have to be personal to be memorable. Love this! :)

That story Amy told of the book was amazing, sometimes we don't realise the things God put in our way and we shun it out only to be prompted over and over again by Him until we finally say ok God I'm listening, tell me what you need me to do! Praise God and Amy its only few like you out there, keep on keeping on!
