That was a lovely French Village. The Home was absolutely gorgeous and nicely decorated. It would be very nice to stay there. All of the food so appetizing. She was a lovely hostess. I only have one comment and it’s my opinion. I would’ve preferred the naked painting to be placed in a bedroom, not near the kitchen. I’m glad she had many paintings of women. Thank you.

Another lovely town. It's always fascinating to see expats from numerous countries resettling in France...and have no direct familial ties to the land. Corina and Shane have created another beautiful home in a country so far away from their homeland and I often wonder what drives them to pick France. Of course..looking at the countryside and quaintness of this region makes it understandable. Cheers from Wisconsin 🍻

I love historic homes. It's interesting how in so many redone homes, the modern interior does not relate at all to the historic exterior. The interior colors & furnishings look quite modern in contrast to the architectural exterior. I love that dining table with so much character and the painted floors. I know painted floors are common in the UK, but are they also in France? I'm considering painting the raw wood floors in my upstairs.

Would you mind sharing how much you pay in France for this item. Thank you for sharing your travels, my husband and I look forward to the next one. Best Regards Cindy

Dear Cynthia, the price depends on the fruit with which the jam is made but a Bonne Maman strawberry jam is $1.70, cherry jam is 2.50, figue jam is 2.20, apricot 1.90, rhubarb 2.20, etc… The prices are for a jar of 370 gr (about 13oz). (p.s : in French, "Bonne maman" means "Granny" 😉)

Charlotte Gray , movie , starring Kate Blanchett and famous British actors, was filmed there. Because of the collaborators the war movie movie was not shown in the town we were told at the city hall. The film was excellent, many elderly cried when the German tanks came through the town, they were extras and remembered.

😊Thx for that bit of pop trivia. I loved❤ that film. Cate Blanchett is such an elegant actress too. Couldn't imagine all those brave French (Polish, Norwegian, etc.) citizens who fought in the resistance. 🎉Thank God for all who stood up against the Nazi regime & protected their Jewish citizenry. Truly horrific times. Movie or not, I would cry at the sight of a tank in my beloved town too. My grandpa's served in WWII, but not in Europe. I've heard that smoking is everywhere in France. Is that just mayor cities? Or do people smoke a lot in smaller towns as well? It looks beautiful, but I'm wondering if I can even visit. I'm extremely asthmatic to cigarettes.
@FrenchCountryLife11 ай бұрын
Yes so many people smoke here! In the countryside as well. However it is forbidden in public places, bars, restaurants, trains, shops etc and only allowed outside. I don’t deal with cigarette smoke very well either but I have no problems going out here.
@teresacarle29410 ай бұрын
Remember when they 🚬smoked on 🛩airplanes? Went to 🇬🇧London in '86 (& 🇦🇺Aussie 2×s in early 90s). England had these tiny restaurants that would be a thick fog of smoke. Even for someone raised around chainsmokers, that was pretty miserable. Not supportive of LA😎's extreme environmental laws, but the strict non-smoking policies truly improved my own quality of life tremendously. 😳NEVER thought I would prefer cigarette smoke〰️but it became hellish on our streets, metro, & some venues once again AFTER mary jane was legalized. That sickly sweet odor seems to permeate almost every where. It makes me seriously nauseous🤢. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

🤍Blessed white interiors are 💯% Cali😎 🆒️. Maybe it's when you grow up in an extreme hot Mediterranean/Desert 🏜 climate that you appreciate the soothing, tranquil, as well as rustic simplicity of white & natural light wood like pine. 😊SoCal natives don't hunger for cosy. We typically long for a sense of respite & expansiveness from the blistering hot🔥 elements🤣. ❤Loved her gallery of women🎨. A nude one in the kitchen 🍽 would definitely keep me from over indulging in scrumptious ⚜️French 🥐pastries & fresh bread🥖. 🤔Something special about painted portraits. Thin on the ground in most charity shops here locally. Lake & mountain landscapes as well as seascapes are much easier to find. 😉Of course, the only painting I own is of a still life. It's an exquite centerpiece of white roses & greenery on a table🤍. Got it at a garage sale for a song. Best find ever! 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

You put water in the lower part, coffee in the middle part and put the top part on. When the water starts boiling the steam rises up through the coffee and is pushed out into the pitcher part of the coffee maker. This is actually how the Italians traditionally make their coffee at home. It reminded me of the summer that my husband and I met in Italy ❤️
