Ellie, it really does. Those of us who are doing the work to heal our hurt and pain have lost the desire to hurt other people, or at least don't act on those feelings if they do arise. Not saying that as a boast, just as a beautiful truth, which this man is such a living example of. Wishing him and his brother the peace they both deserve 🙏🏾❤️

"One of the most sacred of emotions is shame" I was just amazed when I heard this because I first learned it from my religion. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Every religion has a distinguishing characteristic and for Islam that characteristic is shame. I heard that in a moment I was getting the feeling of shame of not feeling ashamed even though I had failed to meet my own ideal and that got me to think about my principles.

I commend him for recognizing that the anger he felt within was projected to his brother and that he was able to express this to his brother. He mentions never having been taught how to recognize his emotions and how to deal with them, I hope he recognizes that his parents or caregivers probably had no idea how to deal with their own feelings and couldn’t help him, most people do the best they can with what they know and hopefully more people grow and learn to do better when they know better.

I have lived offgrid on a romanian hill for some years, daily learning and working with our Mother and can safely say that she helped me a lot to mature, let go of many new-age superficial ideas i picked up while living in the cities, fake , complicated concepts that i see also in many brothers and sisters from cities, that brought us to becoming more gullibile, submissive, on the brink of losing our health, freedoms and lives to globalist's depopulation and total control agenda and in the same time destroying the surface of the planet due to our "cosy" city living. Can't agree more with native americans that so paciently kept inviting us to return to nature, the only healthy way to carry on. We are out of balance because we ignore our providing planet.

as a young man, I suffered the curse of a long life ahead of me, often living as if this journey would just go on forever, if only just for me. now as an older and sometimes, somewhat wiser man, the moment by moment emotions that travel through my existence, consistently remind me of how amazing this life has been, and continues to be. I live a fuller life today simply by allowing myself the pleasure to feel, to emote among those I care about beyond those youthful perceptions of formality. just an ordinary man living an ordinary life full of wonder and amazement around every curve in the road I travel.......

It's amazing to me how compassionate we can be with others, and turn around and be so hard on ourselves. I have spent most of my life that way. I finally got to a breaking point a couple of years ago and shifts are happening. A guaranteed way to unhappiness is to deny our emotions and the reasons why we feel them. None of us are flawed, and we are also all flawed as humans. If we can see that, we see that we're all the same. I think that the only way to truly change is on a spiritual level. Thank you to Craig for this video, his honesty, vulnerability and humility show a wise soul. For me, being in nature is a necessary part of my life, and is sometimes the only thing that feels real in this crazy world.

“Awareness is often the medicine.” So very true. It is when we take the time to listen to ourselves with no judgement, that we can begin our journey of healing. Often so, this journey continues for the rest of our lives. And that’s okay. There’s no moment when we feel that it is final. Life is meant to teach you everyday. That is what makes it so precious. We fall, We learn, we forgive, and we continue to keep trying our best. 🕊

I’ve been on both side of the coin. I was verbally abused by my older sister since I was born to this day. It has been my greatest life lesson. She took every ounce of my self esteem as a kid and teen. It took my 40 years to realize it never was about me. I looked inside myself. I took the lessons and grew. Never have been able to talk about it with her because she will never acknowledge it. On the flip side as a teen with low self esteem I took it out on my wonderful mother. I eventually grew up and hopefully made up for that. But she died when I was 30 and I still feel guilt for the way I treated her as a teen… now that I’m an adult at 54, I wish I could talk to her more about it. It’s all lessons. It all has meaning, all emotions. Oh and I love the mountains and I do want to live on top of one. 😉

Both my parents couldn’t show emotions… and I’ve resented that fact I felt deprived as I realised this was my lack in life. I’m learning now not to blame…I’m loving myself and putting myself love into me and breaking the mould of emotional loss. My sister verbally bullied me , as did my father….I have to forgive now because I realise they bully to make up for their own shortcomings. Both parents now gone ….and sister estranged emotionally and physically as we both get on with our lives ..separately . Sometimes it’s the best way to be happy and content.

I learn awhile back that anger always hides hurts, pain, disappointment and sadness. It shows up as a coping mechanism. I am anger based, it comes out in many form like impatience, frustration, intolerance and rage. It is very destructive in how life is experienced. I found out about the events in my childhood life that caused such pain and why I became anger prone. Although today I understand and I am aware of my thinking patterns, it is still a long process to change that chemistry. Will it ever disappear? I don't know. I have tools today to help myself, focusing on feelings of gratitude, practicing presence in the now, and a big one is too SLOW down and ENJOY the process in all my activities without being concerned with the end result. That is quite a rewarding practice. And last but not least, contemplation in nature is very powerful. As you can see this video/topic was right on point for me. I have great admiration for this man's humility. His inner journey shines bright. Thank you to all involved in the making of this short film. 🙏

This was such a beautiful thing to watch....would hug you if I could. You are right... E_motions have such a powerful effect on us yet we are never taught to investigate its source because...the question is...who will teach us? Most adults are themselves facing having to deal with their unresolved mess. Anger is a knot in our energy system stored in our dna when an experience of lack of control....past or present ...does not find a release.Whenever our power/ free will is taken away from us we inflict that pain on others...unknowingly. ... that shame you talk about is an overwhelming sense of guilt, a sudden/ gradual disappearance of ignorance for unknowingly hurting someone. Forgive yourself for doing to your brother by forgiving those who did that to you...society, family....whoever. Release the shame. Shame is not the same as awareness. Awareness has a sense of rising up, hope, new light. Shame is a disempowering emotion that lowers self love. It keeps you tied to the mistake not to the realisation of the new knowledge. It is as harmful as ego _ both are unhelpful as both arise out of lack of awareness.
@ligimathew73722 жыл бұрын
I think he used the word shame in the sense of having the feeling of being humble enough to correct one's own miserable and misbehaving self. Just as he said, it is really human to feel shame. To grow up to the level of enlightenment or that grade of awareness is another realm of experience. It is not a common or an easily attainable thing/ matter/ state/ concept or whatever. It's more of stage talks than of real life experiences . It's a big business in our country, India. We are trying to benefit materially through spiritual tourism as far I know. But to be ashamed of one's own bad deeds and to have a mentality not to repeat it, is simply almost enough to make this world much better. Let's learn to walk steadily first before trying to learn how to fly.

@@ligimathew7372 Yes, I know love. One leads to remorse and change in behavior. The other leads to a self defeating, self defaming attitude, and remains only at an( extremely) negative thought lvl. Apology only comes out from the first type. Escapism from the other.

When we know better we can choose to do better, just as this man has and continues to do. It requires both courage and humility. The hope for our world lies in the decisions we make to do better. Our emotions are messages to us, if we are willingly to stop, hear them and find a way with them and through them. Thanks to all who made this beautiful video for the world! Kathleen & Justin, USA

Craig's honest and down to earth story reminded me of my journey in discovering 'the gift of guilt' and the healthy aspects of other properly experienced emotions. For me, emotions are like guardian angels that keep me in touch with my center. They tell me when a boundary has been, or is about to be crossed. I get to decide what to do about it. Feelings are just that... feelings. They are not facts. Should I choose not to address them, feelings can indeed become toxic when held inside. They can lead to dis-ease of all kinds. Again, I get to choose. I'm still a student in the classroom. Thanks for another spot-on life lesson.

Thanks for sharing your story. I have a 23-year-old son and since he was a baby he has had a very strong character. With explosions that blind him and he has left many therapies. Sadly he is constantly fired from his jobs. Only trust me. He hardly has any friends. The Mexican culture is one of those who think (in many cases), he is your son and you must carry him. I don't think the same. He doesn't live in my house and when we talk, I speak to him with adult love. I hope with all my love that one day he finds his center and balance.

I think it´s very true what he said about the reasons he did this to his brother. If you´re not supported in a way that you need, you go and find empowerment somewhere else. In his case, by humiliating his brother. I never thought about bullying this way. But there is a lot of truth in this point of view imho.

I have been gaslit and bullied by my older brother since young. I am 50 now, and the last time I saw him less than a year ago he belittled me again, lied in front of my mother to make me out to be the bad guy. He probably won't change. But I have recently started to let all that go. I just cut it loose because to carry resentment is to injure yourself.

This is a wonderful reflection and metaphor of how being aware of our emotions is incredibly vital ❤️ Thank you for sharing your own special vision with us, Graig! It’s even more beautiful coming out of a man’s perspective since society makes them (& all humans) repress our own feelings & emotions. Not everyone is aware and conscious about how emotions work. I myself have had repressed so much that I only started to proceed and seriously understand emotions in my half twenties, when covid hit. I hope humanity can wake up and be aware of all of their wounds & work on them to heal, and stand tall like those mountains ❤️🩹❤️

That's a huge example of how our mistakes and misunderstandings can lift us up in a way that can change our lives radically, it only depends on how much attention and value we give to that knowledge we get from those experiences. It doesn't mean we become perfect or somehow super different from everyone, but we lead a very better way to ourselves, less and less full or resentments. I've got some issues too last years and it was a big moment for personal growth and I really identified with him and enjoyed how he learnt from his moments!
