Zevran was a special case. His choices where join or die. Plus this could be a dead zevran playthrough to keep from spoiling cameos. Bioware does like there Grimm default worldstate.

Crow last names come from their houses. Viago is the Talon of house de Riva. The crow Rook is a member of house de Riva (possibly purchased, and definitely trained by the house), so Viago is their boss. They are most likely not related, unless you are able to make your Rook another royal bastard.

that would explain why the duelist specialization for rogues, which is Crow themed, is centered around poison damage, I Viago trained you, then you’d be pretty good at using poisons

4:02 The Crows basically buy children and torture/train them to be assassins. Those who survive it take the name of the House (ala Zevran of House Arainai). Rook is probably one of these, so we aren't actually *related* to Lucanis. Even if it turns out that a human Rook is potentially related by blood to Viago, there's still no relation to House Dellamorte.

I like that none of the characters we've seen so far seem to fall into stereotypical pitfalls. Bellara is cute and upbeat and could have been a complete airhead but instead she is extremely intelligent, sweet, and resourceful. Lucanis is brooding and has a dark side and could have been pigeon holed as a rude, bad boy with a heart of gold type but instead he's very sweet, caring, and seems to put other over himself. I am really impressed with this game so far. I think the story is going to be amazing.

As an Antivan Crow, you aren't necessarily related to Viago, just that you're in his House and everyone adopts the name. But he's still very much your boss and i cannot wait to meet him❤❤❤❤❤

Okay while I love Spite, wee feral lad that he is, I kinda wish we the player couldn't see him? If only for the angst of romancing Lucanis, the emotional wave he flinches and his nose bleeds. Not knowing *why* Spite is throwing a tempertantrum. I'm sure there was a good reason behind why we the player can see Spite, my guess it has to do with why Spite can just put himself in the driver's seat, but think of the emotional turmoil!

Describing yourself as feral and all of this is literally my current existence XD everything you said, I relate to. Christ. Ever since reading his story I was hoping we’d get him as a companion and HE IS PERFECT. not to mention Spite. I am SO curious how that whole arc is going to go. Not to mention VIAGO? He gets to be the leader of a crow rook’s house? HELLO? Like WOW. I expected one of the dead houses or something but this is AMAZING. I will be curious how a Crow Rook handles Solas because I believe they have a contact to kill him so what if they spare him? I want to know how Lucanis deals with Crow Rook lol. Also I didn’t expect to go to Treviso or meet Catarina and the rest so early… I am pumped. Like damn. I can’t wait for BioWare to break my heart. Definitely plan on romancing Lucanis my first playthrough with my qunari mage Shadow Dragon Rook. Especially considering that she's going to be antsy with the entire idea of working with assassins, let alone one with a demon in him...and walking around as a qunari mage in Treviso.
