AMC can beatmatch 2 (sometimes 3) tracks (like most DJs should be able to) BUT he is not at DJ sensi Jeff Mills level, he is not a 'god', he's not a "cut about everyone else" lol, he can only beatmatch 2 decks manually and that's it, for 4/6 decks AMC only be described as a sync warrior On the other hand, his selection is interesting and his mix/blending is creative

@Ex0rz Жыл бұрын
And doing it the oldschool way riding the pitch... I have tried to learn to ride the pitch and I just cant. Its supposed to be a simple technique, but honestly its not as simple as it seems. On CDJ's its much easier when you can use the jogwheel to sync the tracks while adjusting the pitch.
@PaulJones-bu2ho Жыл бұрын
@@Ex0rz I always used to ride the pitch, it's a knack you have to master, it's all about finesse
@Ex0rz Жыл бұрын
@@PaulJones-bu2ho Yeah I have started to try and learn it. Its a really nice technique, since your other hand can focus on the pitch while the other is freed up to do the mixing. However I dont really beatmatch anymore, because I can simply see the bpm in Traktor lol. Still, I consider beatmatching fun. Gives you the feeling that you are doing something and actually good at something.
@PaulJones-bu2ho Жыл бұрын
@@Ex0rz I come from the old school way of DJing where it's all done by ear. I've dabbled in digital and it is fun and very accessible, but I've always preferred the feel of vinyl. Never had the chance to try the likes of Serato etc. I learned on analogue and more or less stayed there

I agree 100% with you. It takes me back to amazing mixes like 2005 Andy C's essential mix, or the one by Friction. 3 Decks give the talented dj many options for awesome mixes, teases, double drops and tune combos, yet the listiner have some time to focus on music and simply enjoy the tunes. "Slamming 14 tunes into minute" even though impressive, can often be too tiring, at least for me :) Cheers!

Great selection, impeccable mixing. I've been guilty of AMC bashing in the past for some of his hectic bazillion deck mixes. This is bang on the money.

It’s all bout catching the beats with your eyes, I think these sets sound better n display the craft. But the quality with today’s tech is amazing.

Haha it is hard that is why it looks it. So many have had the thought of i wanna be a dj only to be sadly let down by the cold hard reality of it being bloody hard 😂😂😂🙈🙌🙌🔥🔥🔥🔥👊🏼
@HikariSakai4 жыл бұрын
@@propgear123 I mean I make mixes but only in a software which is way easier since you can take your time creating it, but DJing requires you to be fast with your fingers and your brain so I think that's what makes Decks so hard, if you don't have fast reaction times and a knack for knowing what to play on the spot then I guess real DJing isn't for you.

To be fair I’ve been in the booth at my local when he was DJing and he did use sync, but that’s doesn’t mean he can’t DJ without it also as proved by this video. I personally have zero issue with a DJ using sync anyway. Why wouldn’t you use the technology available to you?
@raverboyful4 жыл бұрын
Stephen Prosser I agree with you on that. Especially when BPMs are on the screen so even when not using sync most have got used to mixing by eye rather than by ear anyway.

So now A.M.C has not only proved his genuine talent but also shown the practical element to mixing on vinyl and why CDJ mixing is so much more practical. Ok vinyl sounds better quality and the purists will cite its harder to master mixing on vinyl etc. That’s fine. But if you made a living from something and you had the technology to make it far less effort (physically picking up/swapping vinyls vs digital) and would rather do your job the harder way that would make you an idiot or someone with no ambition. This guy just proved to the world how skilled he is and why would he limit himself to a less practical technology to entertain people and make a living just because a few closed minded people say the modern way requires no talent or skill????!!! Just enjoy the music and stop living in the past ffs. One love = DNB #A.M.Cisalegend

Gav Cliss 90% of these tunes were released on vinyl and DJs only played vinyl and crafted their skills this way. Not a shock that a DJ can actually mix and not use tech to sync.

I think digital and analogue will always be two different worlds that convey different subtleties but under skilled mind and body bring forth the same message.
@samrogers76574 жыл бұрын
One of the main reasons DJ’s made the switch to digital is because a lot of clubs didn’t look after their 1210s. Having the needles skip on every mix when someone is dancing near the booth is a nightmare. I still mix with vinyl, but I understand why DJ’s have made the switch.
