I saved two of our native Hawks here in New Zealand, reared them back to health and set them free as no bird of prey should be kept.. it was one of the greatest deeds of my life.

Yes, I agree that birds of prey should not be kept in captivity. In my city, it's worth raising your head and watching the falcons hunt pigeons all year round.

@@KostyaTM a magnificent sight indeed my friend. I believe that the two I reared back to health may have been taking their first flights at the end of our winter, early spring, as their chest muscles were no where near developed. I'm fairly certain that they were knocked out of the air by Magpies since they both had similar damage to one wing.. A friend of mine suggested shooting down the Magpies to which I replied absolutely not, it is the way of nature. At this point I'd like to sincerely wish you and your loved ones the very best for the new year, and in your day to day lives..
