Im 23 now... since i can remember, my mom has always put on A-Mei's tracks to listen to. I have come to love her voice, its so propelling. Some of her songs have made me get up and dance to them, some have made me cry to them, and some of her songs have made me feel anger like she has projected through her songs. A-Mei is full of genuine talent....

I discovered A-Mei Years ago when I was in China-Town in NYC in the DVD-CD store looking for DVDs(Chinese movies/Anime).browsing when I heard this song being played in the background in the store. I was astounded by it and her voice(im picky about singers and she stunned me). I Immediately asked the store owner who this was and he pointed me to A-Mei's CD "BAD-BOY". I Bought it immediately and I loved every track! Some of her inflections in her voice are reminiscent of Celine Dion. Awesome!

@Mahlercougar i was lucky enough to meet her in beijing 1999 at the HRC. very warm and friendly woman. i was playing in a band at the hrc doing a dodgy version of bad boy when a-mei and her entourage walked in. management told us DONT go upstairs and bother her....i thought DONT tell me what to do and headed up stairs lol she was very happy to say hello and have a pic taken. great memories :-)

I'm totally agree with you. Have you heard Kubuchulai by A-mei? If you don't, then listen to it, it's simply wonderful, one of her best ballads ^^

@axelnandor Thanks! I Bought A-Mei's Double CD a few years ago and I am always on the lookout for great talent like hers. I will look for Winnie Hsin (Xin Xiao Qi) and listen to her as well! Thank you for the suggestion :) Some of my own singing styles are patterned after A-mei and Mariko Nagai and a few others :)

@Mahlercougar you should also listen to Winnie Hsin (in Chinese Xin Xiao Qi), her voice goes straigt to your heart. One of her greatest hits is "Wei dao" (scent)

I understand your wanting to distance her from CD because A-Mei is her own individual person. I personally am not a fan of CD. Id prefer A-Mei. I didnt mean to say she sounded exactly like. I think I said "Reminiscent". But I can understand your...strong response. I am a composer,and If someone said I sound like Mozart or Lizst Id be a little erked myself because I condcider my work unique. Which A-Mei CD's do you have?
