This is wonderful, thank you so much for sharing the video, and such an important personal memory with us! I remember, I was 16 when the album of the live recording hit the stores in 1986, and I bought it literally on the first day.

Thanks for sharing. May not make sense to judge from a 10 minute video of a performance that is more than 35 years old but, seems like typical Karajan style ` big band, Wagnerian Mozart.

Thanks Sivakumar, I think there were a little bit more Strings and Brass yes... but, the most important thing, this was a Sound-check within the 26 sec reverb of St. Peters

I have no idea. They are Italian professionals from that time who participated in this audio/video test. This video, and I'm not saying this directly to you but rather for those who might point out that it doesn’t show Karajan conducting the orchestra, represents a memory from my childhood when 'Karajan came to Rome, and my dad helped him with the orchestra.'
