Man, being a voice actor must be so fun I wish I could be a voice actress, but my microphone is shit and I don’t Even know how I would start this dream. Where do I Even begin

Heya! Voice actor of that lady seen with Kyle and that other dude in EP 2 here. If you wanna start voice acting go for it, I mean I started out on my phone (I don’t voice with my phone anymore though). Mic quality is important and something like what you have may not get you into anything like a huge game BUT what’s more important rn is building up your skill so you can be more prepared for when you do get better equipment. (Don’t be shy about researching mics either. I went from phone mic > usb mic > my current XLR mic. But ofc research and find what fits for you) I would start out by practicing and auditioning. CastingCallClub and Discord are good places to find auditions wether it be for Gacha projects, Minecraft projects or whatever it is you want to start out in. There’s no one set area. I personally started out with Gacha and then expanded to other things but everyone’s journey is different! For practicing you could •Dub over some comics and try to act out the characters and their emotions •Read out of books with different voices for the characters •Read off scripts you can search up online •Auditioning is great practice itself!! When voicing the character my biggest tip, though quite cliché; it’s worked for me, is imagine yourself as the character. How would you respond to the previous line or environment that led the character to say the line they are. How would you say this line if you were the character! Just some things to think about Another note, please don’t get discouraged if you don’t get cast right away. Especially if you are starting out, I found voice acting is like 95% auditions and 5% actually recording for your character. You’ll get that cast eventually! Just keep at it and keep improving!
