I participating in a youth singing choir every summer. It lasts two weeks and we travel to churches all over and sing songs and lead them in worship. We sang this song a few years back and it still gives me chills every time I hear it. Praise the Lord!

😢 This morning I woke up with a profound deep of Peace. As I sat on my bed, I was thanking the Lord for his mercy, guidance and blessings over my life. the only way to eternal life is through Jesus not a mushroom lol. With that said I've had a handful of experiences and my last takeaway was this: If the state of mind in which mushrooms put you was our "normal" and what we call normal sobriety was obtained by a drug, that drug would be worth more than any substance on Earth. And that was when I realized we were created in love and exist in the ideal mental state and was extremely thankful for that and coming back into that off the mushrooms. I knew from that last time that I never needed to do them again and the only temptation i might have to do them again is because of boredom and the desire for a break and the excitement and unique abstract experience again. With all that said, nothing gives peace like Jesus gives peace. He told us: “I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid."

I love all the Biblical references in this song. Seriously you can go through this song line by line and pull out at least one place in scripture that it referred to. I literally just read Hebrews 12:28-29, “Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, 29 for our God is a consuming fire.” I remembered this song had these scriptures woven into it, along with others, which is what prompted me to search it again here on KZbin. Assuming that you comply with the narrow criteria that permit you to enter your eternal rest with the Living God, you may be disconcerted to discover that His inspiration for praise is universal and inclusive. Or you might even become aware of that even earlier. Have you listened to any other compositions by the Nockels family? Martin Luther does not have exclusive rights on phrases from God's Word. I guess I have to forgive you for the abhorrent misuse of the verb 'sucks', not what I would have been expecting in the comments of Christian Praise genre music. May God enhance and expand your understanding of how He loves us all in our diversity but desires our unity.
