The reason people are in tears is not just because of the music. It’s because in a day where division permeates our culture you are finding a way to bind us all together not matter race, denomination or political differences. We are united through music and worship of our great God!

Hardly anyone believes me when I tell them this: When I was in public high school in 1959-1963 in New York State, we all got to school on Wednesday morning , took attendance, then we all boarded school buses again. The Catholic kids were taken to the local Catholic church, the Jewish kids to the synagogue, and we Protestant kids to the local Methodist church. It was called "Religious Instruction" and it happened every Wednesday morning. This Hymn was one of the many we learned and sang as a group, and we memorized Bible verses and the 23rd Psalm, The Lord's Prayer and others. My kids still think I made it up, but it was real. Does anyone else remember doing this?

But what about the people who stand against some popular ideas, such as transgenderism and gay marriage? Or the Christians who have been martyred? Google suggested that there were roughly 2.4 billion people who called themselves Christians. Isn't that a big number to be entirely made up of people who are afraid of each other?

Revelation 7:9-10 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

1 A mighty fortress is our God, A bulwark never failing; Our helper He amid the flood Of mortal ills prevaling. For still our ancient foe Doth seek to work us woe; His craft and power are great, And armed with cruel hate, On earth is not his equal. 2 Did we in our own strength confide, Our striving would be losing, Were not the right man on our side, The man of God’s own choosing. Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is he; Lord Sabbaoth, His name, From age to age the same, And He must win the battle. 3 And though this world, with devils filled, Should threaten to undo us, We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us. The Prince of Darkness grim, We tremble not for him; His rage we can endure, For lo, his doom is sure; One little word shall fell him. 4 That word above all earthly powers, No thanks to them, abideth; The Spirit and the gifts are ours, Thru him who with us sideth. Let goods and kindred go, This mortal life also; The body they may kill; God’s truth abideth still; His kingdom is forever.

Thanks from a life-long Lutheran familiar only with the original LCMS words. For me, this translation lacks some of the majesty, perhaps it's just not what I learned as a child! Luther wrote in German, originally, so it's all good!!....eg, v. 3, the blue book#262... "Tho' devils all the world should fill, ALL eager to devour us, We tremble not, we fear not ill, They shall NOT overpower us! This world's prince may still Scowl fierce as he will, he can harm us none, he's judged; the deed is done. One little word can fell him." Since childhood, I have wondered what word? ? And then I heard some scholarly guy on LPR claim Luther was asked that, too. He'd laughed and said "Boo!"

Sorry, don't want to be rude, but what would be the point if the person can't hear the music??! This is a music video..
@pjp93835 жыл бұрын
@@pianosenzanima1 Both deaf and hard of hearing people may use sign language to communicate, so a) they may actually be able to hear the music, if loud enough b) they may be able to feel the rhythm / beat / bass of the music even if they can't "hear" it c) the words themselves have a rhythm that's worth being communicated and d) deaf and HOH folks should be able to be part of things if they want and we can include them even of their experience is different from ours. I hope that doesn't come across as snarky - tone is hard to assess in electronic communication. I just tried to think of as many examples as I could of why it would be worthwhile doing. It's basically all the same reasons why, when I post a picture or image on Twitter, I always add a caption for those who are visually impaired and using a screen reader - they may not be able to see the picture, but they'll know it's there, and what's in it. Have a good night!
One day, and very soon, we will sing together in the presence of our almighty God, glory and Hossanna to Jesus-Christ.

Firstly thanking God, for this wonderful opportunity and also thank David Wesley for accepting my last minute entry towards his amazing work on the Virtual Choir project # 4 “ A Mighty Fortress is our God, and I truly feel blessed and happy to be a part of this huge group of singers from across the world. “Humble thyself at the sight of the Lord” was the first chorus line of thought that came in mind when I saw this go live after the strenuous effort & posted and tagged by David Wesley. Technology has gone to an extent, in ways to unite and bring peace, love, & harmony through music from across the oceans and merge them as one piece of work and your projects have proved it successfully. Thinking back of my interest as a church choir member and the importance to learn the four parts singing harmony all started at a very young age when our then church vicar Mahesh Achen- Rev.Thomas Cherian, dragged me & a few friends to the choir and I must sincerely thank him and also the past Choir Masters who literally took rigorous pains in training us in & feel proud to learn the basics of satb singing from our choir masters like late Jacob Eapen Tvm ( Babu Sir) , late Richie Walsalam, John Eappen (Binoy ) & after that continue singing with choir masters like Sampath Manoharohar & Biji Kaithamukkil Thomas with their able guidance and leadership. From my experience the real feel of joy & success of true harmony in singing does not work individually but works and blends only with team work of dedicated members and I thank all my friends who have sung together both in India and also, the Dh group members here, who were part and parcel of this learning. Lastly to wrap the part of my contribution, without, the support of the professional touch of Jibu Lissan Jacob at the last-minute request, this would not have reached the entry on time. Thanks to the support and prayers from my family and friends too. #virtualchoir#mightyfortressisourgod#davidwesley
