On the screen in says Cadd9 on the bottom string is the 4th fret but it’s actually supposed to be the 5th fret that’s why everyone thinks it sounds wrong, thank you for the really helpful video, I subbed.
@ukeplayalongs5 жыл бұрын
Just a note: the chord diagrams only have 4 “boxes” or frets. That’s why the little 5 appears next to it.

I am still practicing it and what I can tell so far is that I never expected to get that fast picking parts and now I am only struggling on some switches like e? to b7. Give me another 40 hours and i might be able to play it easily. The next step then would be to practice the singing and look if I might use a capo to fit my singing style.

This is a fun video to play along to, but just as a tip, when you are fingerpicking it says to pluck the first and third string. But it sounds better and more like the real song if you pluck the second and first string.

Thanks for your feedback and suggestion! I still like the way it sounds as suggested, but if the other way works for you and you like it that way, that’s how you should play it!

I think it's too late, but i used DDUUDU for the strumming pattern. But use that in every song that I know, because I can't learn another strumming pattern😂😂
@ukeplayalongs4 жыл бұрын
You'll definitely want to break out of using the Island Strum for everything, although it is a tool that you can use in a lot of songs. Don't worry...it gets easier in time.

I am confused about the picking pattern. On the Cadd9 and C, I can’t hear those chords when I play it. Can you get a close up on the hand motion please? That would help a lot.
@ukeplayalongs5 жыл бұрын
I probably won't be re-making this video...it's simply playing the 1st and 3rd strings (A and C) alternating with the thumb and middle finger. The C add 9 is played on the 5th fret (the pitch D) and I find that I can just drop my 4th finger of my left hand (fretting hand) there to play it.

I actually like picking the 3 and 4th string so it has a little different sounds unlike 1 and 3rd string where g and em sound the same and where C makes no sound.

You’re right AND wrong. There is a little 5 next to the 4th finger showing that it is on the 5th fret, plus there is no nut on the top of that chord diagram, showing it is further up the neck. So yes, it should be the 5th fret, but the diagram indicates that. It’s just not a terribly large font.
