Found your channel a while back when I was beginning my search for lightweight van cabinets. I’m now enjoying the whole series. December 2023. Thank you for developing and posting this series. The tips, tricks, technique's & reasoning behind them along with the links to products you’ve used is very helpful.

I only started following you about a month ago but you quickly became one of my favorite channels. Really appreciate your attitude, tone, craftsmanship, thoughtfulness, and consistency. Looking forward to whatever you do next, and obviously hope you share it, but I also know just how much work it is to create all these videos.

You've become my favorite camper-building channel, you come across as very relatable and friendly, and I've come to love the rambling because in my own project I seem to find myself spending probably a majority of my time in the workshop just sitting and staring at things, trying to figure out how to do it, just rambling to myself. Silently, mostly, but still. I'm very excited about the idea of you building a rental camper, since the one I'm building now is going to be something I'll be able to rent out, so I'm building everything with that in mind: things need to just work, there can be no "lift this, then slide that and finally strap that to those" or "to activate, first turn this switch, then wait for that, make sure this happens, turn it off and then flip this" which is what my personal projects tend to become.

You’ve spoiled me for van build KZbin videos. I watch other people giving a tour of their builds and now I’m always thinking: “too heavy!” As a cabinet maker who spends a lot of time making things look good, I like your approach to making things look great while also dealing with the struggle and challenge (fun) of keeping it lightweight and manageable. Thanks for making the content!

I've really enjoyed watching some of your videos that last few months. I'm never building a van, and I don't do wood working. But I like what you're building, I like seeing you problem solve and explain your thinking process. I'm not here for a "how to" that I'm trying to use. I find some of the best channels on YT aren't just focused on making tutorials, but is just a place for the creator to express themselves and share what they are passionate about. Good luck with what ever you decide to do long term. When addressing gradient answer questions.... when you did your trade offs spreadsheet, that was a great way to approach different considerations.

Hope you can make the channel work for you long term. Your honesty and realism are what makes it, don't sell out! I think Q&As would be interesting for sure.

Hey man, can't remember if you said your name in the videos before. Your channel is a really fresh view of van building, and I am building a van myself at the moment. I really like your very technical videoes and that you build custom stuff entirely down to the brackets you make and other small fun hinges etc, lightweight, cheap and all that, that is hard to find on other channels. So I very much appreciate all the time you spend filming these videos, they are helping me a bunch myself, so thank you for sharing your techniques and thoughts here on youtube! I am looking forward to the next projects

Like David, a recent subscriber, and I really enjoy your detail on the 'why' as well as the 'how'. There are plenty of van channels telling you what to buy or showcasing finished vans,, but far fewer really good ones that explain build techniques and the reasons behind them. I've picked up a few tips already from your content, and look forward to more of the practical insights. Greg Virgoe in the UK and Humble Road in the US are my other go-to resources.

The third point about questions is a good idea for videos. I've asked a question before about why you put your bed up front rather than at the rear, and yes I did watch it all the way through but I was looking for some other pros for this. So far I've been looking into this and I've thought: You can have all your services (water, electrics fuel and waste) at the rear, and it means you don't have to open up a side door. You could make the rear a more storage area, overhead lockers etc without making the lounge area feel boxed in. Having the convertible bed opens up the height, a platform bed above the garage doesn't really do this. If you have double side doors you could exit from either side. I think that's about it, but I've really taken inspiration from that layout 👌

Re that third tier of questions: I understand some might require some video/project support but the others would make good fodder for your live Q&A. Love that you’re sharing your knowledge and expertise - much appreciated!

Love your work - I forward your stuff on to my friends. Knowing what you know, how would you build out a van now? Where would you start? Where would you spend the money and where would you save it? What does it take to make a van into a cold weather survival pod? I look forward to watching whatever you do - night stands, vans, outdoor furniture. Keep up the good work!

Can't wait to see where you take the channel! I won't pay attention to the instagram stuff cause I think facebook is the worst thing to happen to the internet, and the livestream would be interesting, but you can also just turn it into a monthly AMA for the questions that require a long answer.

Thank you for the content. Love down to earth people that are humble showing off their ideas, being straight about the tradeoffs and not succumbing to the bs out there

I LOVE your videos but could not capture the screen shot of the other channels you recommended. Could someone repost it for me, please. I look forward to continuing to following you and how you diversify. I travel full time in my fiberglass travel trailer (going on 9 years) and bought battery powered tools recently to build out some needed improvements off grid. I hope to be able to implement some of your amazing light weight suggestions along the way. Glad you are not going away. Thanks so much for your sharing your knowledge.

I would like to have a video of how tou frame lightweight cabinets. I know youve covered how to do many aspects lf thr lightweight build, but i couldn't find a description of where you decide to put braces, which surfaces you choose to intersect and how to orient the wood to create the strength.

Do you go over how you built your battery enclosure in any of your videos? Can't seem to find it in any, and I'd be interested in your process with that. I really enjoy the craftsmanship and attention to detail in your videos, and I'm sure that will carry over and keep people interested no matter what your videos are about.

It annoys me when people claim their build is the “best ___”. My goal with building my ambulance out is to build the best solution for ME to the best of my current abilities and knowledge. What is best for the builder isn’t automatically the best ever made.

I'm considering to dive also in to this and build vans (I'm in Europe). I'm just wondering. Is it profitable? The only ones who can sell vans with a profit seems to be companies with an established name. I sometimes see nice home made vans for sale the offers/bids they get are just barely enough to cover the van and material cost.

The van you’re sitting in is a nice rental. Just park it somewhere close to cool places and poof rental. How many vans do you own right now?
