American idiom - shotgun wedding - is used incorrectly here. A "true" shotgun wedding comes from an old-fashioned moral background. It is when a bride (pregnant) and groom (the father) are in front of the officiant (preacher) with her family holding shotguns to force the groom to marry her. This avoids the baby being a bastard, which is something that is not as uncommon in the world today. So while the couple married hastily, it wasn't a shotgun wedding. I would have used a different saying - "Marry in haste, repent in leisure."

It's a mistranslation. The Chinese words being used is 闪婚, which means flash marriage.
