Dan has a superb YT channel - hopefully Tom’s visit gives it the subscriber lift that it deserves.

Brilliant stuff!! When I bought my Nutshell Dinghy pre-cut plywood kit (#103) from Malcolm Goodwin at Wivenhoe in the Autumn of 1987 to build in the garage at home, I was told by all the 'professionals' that the West Epoxy system used, and which obviated the need for frames and stringers, would mean that the dinghy would come apart in a very few years and would, in any event, be structurally unsound. That dinghy was our main tender to my gaff cutter and was towed up and down the English Channel from Suffolk to Cornwall as well as to Holland and France on numerous occasions and is still in as good condition today - 35 years later - as the day it was launched in March 1988!! Thank you to West Systems for a great product!!!

Thanks Richard for taking the trouble to share this grand result. The boys at Wessex will appreciate that, as do I. All the best, Tom C

This is absolutely fascinating and takes modern boatbuilding to another level. I've got an extreme dose of workshop envy now.

I hate to contradict one of the UK's most famous living navigators, but you can get another 750 miles further north from the south coast than the Cotswolds and still be in Britain if you travel up to Muckle Flugga on Unst, Shetland. 😊

What a nice guy Dan is, tell him (in complete fear of advising him on the fine art of sucking eggs) is that when mixing the powders (especially glue powder 403) do it under an extraction fan. We have one in our workshop; the older guys use to do a fast walk stirring it madly. Setting up a range hood type system over his drill mixer would be the finishing touch to what looks like an amazingly well thought out and immaculate operation. Another great interview Tom, as always....

It’s actually great to see young people not only keeping traditions alive but taking them forward like this is cool because nothing beats the look of wood really does it ❤

Great video, nice to see west systems around as I thought they had died off considerably

Great video and really enjoy the old style and the use of new materials and tec.. Really enjoy your video although you could use some help with the audio. If you need someone to help with your field mixing let me know. I would love to be involved in some productions such as these.

Thanks for your kind remarks and for the offer of help. Much appreciated. Sorry you didn't rate the audio. This one was shot and edited by Seeingeye TV, a fully pro outfit using Sennheiser kit and very serious cameras. No other complaints received. I'm somewhat nonplussed...

Aaaarrghhh... Vacuums don't suck or pull anything. The pressure applied is the force of the atmosphere pushing if we want to get simplistic. Nice video, moving on over to Dan's channel.

If you must have a stink boat, best make it a pretty one.
