Elder Marvin DeFoe of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians shares how probably 30 years ago he noticed the birch trees were dying; he says they're all starting to die.
"It's getting too warm; too much stress on the birch trees where I live here. They're going to die off. The trees are alive just like Anishinaabe. So, things are changing, the earth, the environment, and I hope, and I pray that we can change the escalation of the climate. I pray that we can do that, DeFoe said.
