@@GnomePuntTrainerYT If it's encouraging at all: Godot's web player implementation is getting better and better, especially for 2D stuff! I hope 3D catches up soon, and I can use the game engine to show off my models kinda like how Sketchfab works :P. You can already do a lot with it though! And since you have solid front-end skills, I wonder how you could modify or extend it?

if anyone is in the same situation where they dont have any experience, dont let this video get you down. and what i mean by that is,to not watch this video, then get motivated by it, and then get yourself down when your not able to do this much within a month .without any experience it takes a while to just learn GDscript. this guy must learn super super fast or something, because without ANY experience it takes a lil while to just understand how coding language(s) and how to orient the scripts, let alone learning an engine on top of learning coding and game dev. pretty much what im saying is the majority of people will take a lil longer to just get familiar with the engine and how to understand how to read the language and understand it.and that would be after you learn how to use godots engine. sure you can follow tutorials and get a platformer running within a couple days, but more then likely every time you try something on your own without a tutorial, youll end up not remembering much if anything, mainly cuz tutorials just tend to make you copy whats goin on, and not teach anything so you can remember it for yourself later. theres a lot of vids about people learning to code within a week, a month, or something super quick. when that really just makes others try, and quit because they dont feel smart enough because they been at it for 2-3 months, and just barely can get a character to run, jump, and animate. PRETTY MUCH, JUST DONT GET DISCURAGED AND KEEP WORKIN HARD TO LEARN! (itll more then likely take longer then this.)

So I'm kind of in the same situation as you, I want to start making a game but I have absolutely zero programming experience. I've been looking up "beginners" tutorials, overviews on the fundamentals and it's sort of starting to click, but I hit a roadblock when no resource actually teaches how to WRITE the code (beyond a basic calculator or something), or explain why you'd use one function over another. This has stumped me because how am I meant to know what good and bad code looks like? How am I meant to apply these fundamentals in a practical sense? If you have any advice or could point to some resources you used it'd be much appreciated.
