The resolution for sayori was unsatisfying and unnecessarly gruesome as well. Yuri getting possessed also felt out of nowhere. The story jumped the shark into it's supernatural aspects and these never were the driving force of this series. It was the character drama. The whole mother character having a cryptic ominous monologue at the end of each episode thing always felt like a weird side dish whose relevance to the overall plot i still don't understand. A bit disappointed with this one.

Sayori's death was caused due to her mentally snapping, it's also clear that it mostly happened after she found out about Natsuki's pregnancy so there was no way that she would be saved since MC at the time had been focusing more on the pregnancy. Yuri's possession was potentially inevitable and didn't come out of nowhere, since this isn't the first time this happened to her. In one of the earlier acts of the series, it's show that someone else is pulling at the strings, and that same person has controlled Yuri before (to make her get the pills that Sayori would later try to overdose on). The supernatural elements weren't the driving force, because they were never meant to be a driving force until later in the story. The series starts of with practically zero hints on there being something else going on behind the scenes, then, it would slowly implement the supernatural elements to transition the driving force to be a mix of both the Supernatural elements and Character Drama.

Sadly this series has gone a direction that I don't like. The whole something bigger is controlling everything and even a character and not even monika can fix,quite a few ddlc mods (ik this isn't a mod,just something the bike made for fun) have done this and it's just not all that fun for me. Well I continue to finish the series? Absolutely! I love it but I am disappointed and kinda wish it was a grounded story where things just went wrong.

I think these videos are high quality but things definitely went off the rails and I just don’t see how one episode can explain all the supernatural elements & the natuski/Mc story itself; the supernatural stuff really rose too many questions that probs wont get answered. Overall im still a fan, but I feel like somewhere along the way things got way too messy

well god damn. this is quite the setup episode. hopefully we dont have to wait another 10 months for the finale 😳 so sayori's really dead after all. the whole time I was thinking it was another fever dream and kenji would wake up, especially with the monika's note teaser you posted, but it turns out she was talking about natsuki. seems like a lot of plot elements coming together at once, but hey, this finale should be pretty good. had the feeling there wont be a happy ending for a while now, but at the same time this episode subverted pretty much all of my expectations, so im excited for the last episode of this series. hopefully it's soon! this series has been so great and bike you're a seriously talented writer

When one is repeatedly broken down, healed, and put back into the fight, the end result is maturity. That is what turns girls into Women and boys into Men. All Empires start from dirt and return to the dirt from which they arisen. Yet, the memories of their achievements, the Marvelous and the Horrible will be remembered for many generations. Because even an Empire of Dirt, is still an Empire.
