Nice walk in Bishopstone. Lovely hedges, especially the one with the " O.A.A.W". logo. Was intrigued by the old '50's Ford stake truck with flashing headlights. Motion sensor, or cute trickery on your part. lol. You had to tease me with all those thatched cottages/houses.😀 Greetings from your KZbin friend in Canada🇨🇦🍁 As always, Thanks and God Bless.

Hello Bruce. Thank you very much for your comment. I am glad you enjoyed this walk in the village of Bishopstone. Usually during a walk I go out of my way to omit parked vehicles but on this occasion I did a bit of a reveal move with the truck as it was so eye catching :). I don’t know how the logo managed to fall into the hedge (probably he had one to many the night before!). Thanks for walking with me. Have a nice weekend. OAAW

I love the house at 15:00-ish. It looks as though it has been through about fifteen renovations. Some would say that this is chaotic but I think it is reminiscent of the rings on a tree. Each new renovation in a different style, stone, red brick... and a beautiful thatched roof (watch out for mice!). Sometimes, it feels like Cotswold houses have been forced at gunpoint to use Cotswold stone or die. I love those Cotswold houses but this feels more organic. As usual, it is the slow steady style which constantly amazes me with your videos. The floating sensation of being on a walk as if there are no bumps in the road. I feel I know you from the way you look at certain things and hold a glance here but not there. I always enjoy those moments where we stumble upon a babbling brook or have left the world of homes and are in the woods. Wonderful. I enjoy every second of these videos. Thanks for posting. Inspirational.

Afternoon, Jago. I hope your weekend is going well and you are making the most of the sunshine. This is a walk I have had on my radar for ages now. There is something about this village that is just different, maybe it is because we have become accustomed to the honey coloured stone and this village has thrown a spanner in the works by giving us houses that are not afraid to stand out from the crowd but in a very pleasant & satisfying way. I know just what you mean by “I feel I know you from the way you look at certain things”, this is exactly how I feel when I am watching your videos, also this may sound strange but it is kind of reassuring as well, a bit like visiting an old friend when I am watching you go out and about, in fact probably many emotions are felt...reassurance, calmness, relaxation and tranquility, does this make sense to you? I hope sometime you will visit here as I would love to see a J.T video with some beautiful ambient music of this beautiful village. Thank you so much for your kind words, which I must say mean a lot and are an inspiration to me. All the best. OAAW

Very timely! A walk with friends is due to be in Bishopstone as I wanted to try the pub too. It's owned by Helen Browning who is an organic farmer and a bit of a pioneer in the organic world. I really do think we take our country for granted. I read some of the comments and think how lucky I am to live in or not far from these walks and could do any of them any weekend. Shame we are gradually losing everything to housing and too many people.

Good afternoon, Clare. Thank you for sharing this interesting information. Since making these walking videos it has given me a whole different perspective on what we have locally around us. We are incredibly fortunate & blessed to have such beautiful places and like you say, we can go out any weekend for lovely walks. Have a great weekend. OAAW

@OutandaboutWalking9 ай бұрын
Hi, Saida. Thanks for your comment and question. Sure, humans live in the neighbourhoods, it’s just that I usually film very early or early mornings (depending on the time of year) before most people get up and about. Have a good weekend.

Hope you are having a great weekend, OAAW. Bishopstone has an abundance of thatched dormer windows, a most beautifully preserved detail. What with the breeze, clear brook, and waterways, it's a lovely village. I am wondering what that "S" shaped thing above the window at 7:40 was? Also, the houses with new slate roofs, do you reckon those are new-ish builds? I imagine it might be difficult to obtain permits to change the entire roofing material.
@OutandaboutWalking Жыл бұрын
Hi, Michael. Thank you so much for your comment. Whenever I am out on a walk and If I see / hear the wind blowing through the trees or I see some dormer windows I always think of you as I recall just how much you love to see both of these :). To hazard a guess, I would think the “S” shapes are there for structural / reinforcement purposes but that is just a guess, it could be something entirely different! Regarding your second question, I’m afraid I don’t have an answer for that one, hopefully someone who is au fait on this subject may be able to provide us with an answer to what is a very good question! Hope you have had a great weekend and have a great week ahead. All the best. OAAW
