I am increasingly interested in the Elizabeth Strout books. Thanks for making it clear that it is best to read them in order.

Shelly read them out of order and thought they’d be better in order too. A lot of people say it doesn’t matter but it definitely builds to something if you do, imo!

It was nice to see another video! I enjoyed your reviews. You read a nonfiction book all on your own😜 I like Dennis Lehanes newer books however I didn’t enjoy Shutter Island which is on his backlist. Great reviews

Oh, I enjoyed Shutter Island - but I had already seen the movie, so it was easier to exceed my expectations, probably Thanks for the kind words!!

There are some moments in the Lucy by the Sea that has totally stuck with me. Quite the strange bunch of books in this video.

You also have great reviews on StoryGraph, not only on Goodreads. 😉

That’s true and it’s allllso in the description, along with Goodreads :)

@@SpringboardThought I know. This was only one of my small and desperate attempts to make that app more popular than the one owned by the big evil company who will not be named. 😜

The Bone Orchard sounds like it could be up my street.

It’s pretty wild! I bet you would actually! I hope you like it if you get to it!

The bone orchard also hasn’t really stuck with me unfortunately

Yeah! I was actually a little surprised. I remember some instances of the plot and the vibes, but little else.

Mystic River sounds interesting although it deals with some difficult issues. I watched the film of Henrietta Lacks. It's important and interesting to know more about her legacy and the way she and her family were treated. It sounds like the book doesn't quite deliver.
@SpringboardThought2 жыл бұрын
Ohh it’s a film too? Didn’t know that! Is it the same thing, following the woman investigating the story and what not?
@myreadinglife88162 жыл бұрын
I liked Henrietta Lacks better than you but I agree that the interjection of the authors memoir bits didn’t make it a better book. I wished they had been left out too.

Yeah it would have been a lot better I think! I wonder what the movie is like. Someone said there was one? Or a show? Something like that.

👋🏻 Just letting you know I was here! I really enjoyed HL. It’s been 12 years or more since I read it but it stuck with me.
