Our team at "Adventures With Purpose" decided to dive deep into this mystery, hoping to bring some answers to a family in despair. We met with Jonathan's mother, a strong woman who, despite her grief, was determined to help us understand who Jonathan really was. Through her stories, we painted a picture of a young man passionate about life, with dreams, aspirations, and a curious mind. But we also learned of the challenges he faced, the inner battles that sometimes left him feeling lost.
One of the most significant clues came from a statement Jonathan made to his grandfather. He hinted at a desire to disappear in such a way that no one would ever find him. This statement, though cryptic, gave us insight into his mindset and became a focal point of our search.
Armed with this knowledge and driven by a mission to solve this mystery, we turned to our expertise: sonar technology. The vast waters around Lewiston became our primary focus. Jonathan had left in his black Honda Passport, bearing the license plate 916 UDF from Washington. Could it be submerged somewhere, holding the key to this puzzle?
Our sonar equipment, usually reserved for mapping the underwater world, became our eyes beneath the surface. Every blip on the screen, every unusual shape, raised our hopes.
As we continued our search, we realized that this was more than just a mission to find Jonathan. It was a journey to understand him, to piece together the fragments of his life, and to bring closure to a family that had waited for far too long.
The story of Jonathan Schrattenholzer is not just a tale of a missing person. It's a testament to the human spirit, the bonds of family, and the lengths to which we will go to find the truth. Through our efforts, we hope to shed light on this mystery and, in doing so, remind everyone of the importance of community, hope, and perseverance.
Jonathan A. Schrattenholzer was last seen in Asotin County, WA on 02/21/12 leaving his residence in Clarkston, WA in his 1995 black Honda Passport with Washington license 916UDF. The vehicle has not been recovered.

Waha lake is remote, deep and steep. Just 30 mins south of Lewiston in the mountains. I don't think that was searched either. I have grown up with his family, and spend weeks driving the back roads in the area looking for any trace of him, but have never been able to look in the remote waters.

I got really sad when his mom said he has a twin brother. Crushed my heart because I had a twin brother and I lost tragically at 22 years old. 40 + years ago and I could hardly look at his picture without breaking down . Please try not to suffer like I did and am still doing. It's torture. I know your brother like my brother wanted us to live great lives not to be sad all the time and upset. In Idaho, they have lots of waterways if hes talking that he won't never be Found , and you've got to think about the Snake River, the Boise river, cascade Lake, McCall Lake, and lake low in Caldwell idaho. Those are just some of the few big waterways that you could Look Boise river and Snake River would be a very hard. Place to search in a very good place to hide. I know nothing about this case. I was just watching the video and I'm from that area so I thought I would name a few places that I have visited in my lifetime. Thank you for what you do. And helping people find their loved ones. Is this an older episode? I'm always surprised to see Doug on here now days. I wish the guys hadn't abandoned jared like they did. Atleast understand and try to be there for a man who has obviously grew to do all he can to better himself and to help people. Jared's crew let him down because they were afraid of how the public would look at them. Even if the allegations are true I feel jared is one of the few who have beat his demons and done more than enough to make up for his wrongs if that stuff is even true. I googled cliffs and canyons on the Idaho/Washington border and saw some remote places a car could drive off and several the end in water also. Jolissa Fuentes comes to mind. If on the Idaho side there might not have been anyone searching.

They’re looking for a person and a car. A person can hide but if you brought along a car, there’s only so many places you can hide that. If his abandoned car is found somewhere in the hills, then LE will know where to look. Otherwise, the most logical thing is to continue to look for the two together and a body of water is the most likely path to take if you’re trying to disappear with a vehicle.

I hate to say this but this young man was a Marine and and avid outdoorsman. If he had no intentions of being found, I guarantee, he's nowhere near his home. If this is what he decided to do, he's probably somewhere with minimal human presence. My heart aches for this family.. no one should have to lose a family member this way. If Johnathan said you will never find him have you checked (or anyone), at the top of the mountain ranges he used to love hiking in, is there no hidden pools of water that do t show up on maps very well or if they do they are not checked because they are high up or difficult to get to. I was in the Marine Reserves, and not long after I got to my unit, a marine in my unit was killed in a car crash. I didn’t even know who he was, but it hit everyone hard. Bond between marines is nothing like anybody can understand. I’m glad you guys tried bringing him home, no marine should be left behind. Fair winds and following seas Jonathan.
