The sad part is she probably will. I’ve had the stupidest things happen that aren’t even close to being as serious as what happened to her son and I still occasionally look back and beat myself up over a tiny change that could have made things different. Like, years after someone broke a bone and they’re already healed I’ll be like, if I hadn’t done x, or if I’d done y, they wouldn’t have broken anything. It will happen at the most random of moments. Even if I know it’s not my fault. This is why I sincerely hope she is given the resources to get therapy. It’s the least they can do after not listening to her. I agree that the killers should not be hidden. We should draw the line at violent crimes when deciding if a minor should be tried as such. All violent crimes should be treated with the utmost seriousness they deserve and not coddle a murderer because they weren’t 18 yet.

Walking through town in a rough area, having the new owner come out and comfort her so warmly and with such compassion really made my eyes spring to tears before i realized what was happening. Its so heartbreaking that Deidre had to go through not just the loss of her husband, but immediately after, the tragic loss of her son. I remember hearing the gunshots only feet away from my old apartment, where a 16 year old shot a 14 year old over a petty argyment in the park next to my place. If i had taken my child to the park that day like I planned to, we woild have been in the trajectory of stray bullets. The only thing that stopped us from going was a silly petty argument, stopping our plans to go out for about half an hour, long enough for us to watch an episode of our show to calm down before going to the park. 22 minutes into the video, we heard the shots. It rocked the neighborhood, and I cried at the thought that we could have been there, the place where we like to sit was where stray bullets lodged, if fate hadn't made me just a little bit crabby that day.

I agree with mom. The juvenile should be charged as an adult. Both suspects should remain in jail until the cases are completely resolved. The laws are too easy to actually prevent this violence. Prayers for mom and the remaining family members. May rapid justice prevail. The child deserves no less.
