Why is everything better by the sea? Even a lake is an uplifting thing. I had a glorious year working in Tonsberg way down south and it was definitely my happy time. Hellish expensive but happy.

Thank you, Runa! You are doing great! It's interesting for me to follow your trip, since I and a friend went on a motorcycle trip on route 17 a couple of weeks back. We also had great weather from Steinkjer all the way to North Cape. The weather was also good as we went south through Finnmarka, Finland and then back through Sweden all the way down to Sunne, where it started raining and continued until we got back to our hometown, Vargön, Vänersborg. Norway is the ultimate country for motorcycling. Sometimes it's so beautiful that it hurts! I went to Norway last year and the year before that, and I'm certainly returning. The only drawback might be that it's more expensive than Sweden. When I was 17 I had a Husqvarna WR 125, a whole lot different than yours. Wish you all the best!

@3:45 Fun fact, my job is actually to do quality inspections of the road markings with mobile scanning equipment. Mostly in Sweden, but we've had some jobs in Norway as well (like the entirety of the middle line on E6 from Nordlandsporten to Kirkenes)

I returned from my 15 day ride out west (USA) last weekend. LIke you the only rain I had was at the hotels (twice). But out of those 15 days 13 was above 32C temps, yes it was a HOT ride. I was supposed to spend two nights in Vegas, but the temps were forecasted for 42C and I was like nope, so Vegas got dropped like a HOT potato.

That Curlew (just before 17 minutes in) seemed to have found a really sizable snack, and the white shell of the crab was also interesting to see, maybe it wasn't just the shell but the entire crab - in a less than healthy state.
