Ash Ketchum, hero with good heat, when I met itself 21 years ago in Polish televison called Polsat I didn't even think that I would like him so much, he is very determination because realized itself goals, says more he is very take care in relation to people(i.e. for Serena, Lilie, Dawn and May) and pokemons(Chimchar, Chikorita, Pikachu and more), he is great strategist, in pokemon battles Ash he focuses on strategies that will allow him to break the opponent's or opponent's defense if he fights with a girl. He never given up's, he always fight to end, if his traget is not completed, Ash all time work of strategy for rematch if previously lost a pokemon battle, because next time in rematch pokemon battle victory with gym leader or orther pokemon traner or frontier brain(in Battle frontier anime series), always know how creating creative strategy which is his a key to victory in pokemon battles in pokemon anime. Ash's Father and his Grandpa they probably had a big influence on his psyche and motivations, helping him shape his character, and when his mom Delia Ketchum say Ash because surprised decision suprise his Dad and Grandpa, not hide suprise this news and that both Ash's dad and grandfather made no secret of their pride in him. Ash this is boy which continues his journey with best friend Pikachu, and still wants to become a Pokemon master and always he ready to help peoples and pokemons. Can his density about girls that are aronund him be a result of his father's and granpa's behaviours? His grandpa left home to become a pokemon trainer than his father left home for same goal. Maybe young Ash thinks love affairs are not suitable for pokemon trainers. Because when a boy shows some interest to a girl, he understands the situation and smiles. Ash falls in a similar character style as Goku (and to a far lesser degree Superman). Ash, like Goku, represents more ideas and ideals than a fully developed character. This video helped me see him in a better light. Something that also occurred to me as Journeys continues rolling is Ash transitioned from congratulating Goh in catches to sharing the victories (as of recent). It actually feels like the two boys are beginning to mesh into one character, two sides of a coin we’ve been searching for for 20+ years.

He hasn't been reset skill wise since unova. Since beginning of XY you can tell his been getting stronger. Unova was a write off for me due to being nerfed to rookie level so Could say xy was a continuation of sinnoh instead. In kalos he was just one move away from becoming league champion even though that league in my opinion was well... Soooo Rushed! In aloha he became successful by becoming the league champion even though in my opinion that league was well..... Shit! In journeys his on the path to become the pokemon world champion. That's what the writers seems to be going for anyway seeing as they gave Ash already strong pokemon (apart from riolu) instead of starters. Well could say riolu was his starter i guess

I think this part from a fanfic I was reading kinda summarizes perfectly who Ash is and the effect he has on others. It's a fic about Pikachu comforting Litten after Stoutland died and accidentally spilling out about all the times he and Ash died and also a few deaths they saw themselves, so he tries to explain to her how he coped with it: "He is the Ashes of my fire." Pikachu completed. "I could burn as brightly as I could, but he will be the ashes to help me grow and be better than ever. He will help me fix my mistakes when I fu-dged up." And I'm pretty sure Ash being cocky these days is just plot convenience and not an actual character trait, considering he had a whole arc to grow out of that.

I think if Ash's character could age, and not be reset each region it would be more realistic. However, since the show is supposed to emulate the games, it makes sense why he is the way he is. The character in each setting is supposed to represent the player to a certain degree so seeing Ash reset makes sense in that way.

I feel like his Champion Status is what he really needed to kickstart some really powerful treks in the future. Tbh, it makes more sense for him to win against Leon in the Masters 8 considering that from what we know, Paldea is a region not honoring a single champion, but apparently, a plethora of people have attained something known as Champion Status. If there was a pre-qualification for him being the MC in the anime I think being the Champion of Alola while also possibly being Masters Champion would be more than enough for him to seek out a region where almost nothing but other Champions reign supreme. It would also solve the “what’s he gonna do next” situation in tandem with the “how is he gonna surpass himself now he’s already Masters Champion” if he were to win imo.

Ash Ketchum is a character that should not be abused by novice writers who think it is okay to write Pikachu leaving him because he thinks he's being "neglected". I hate that episode (barring the lullaby scenes and Pikachu's butt twerking) and dismiss it from my headcanon. It didn't happen, because Ash is _not_ that stupid and dense with his Pikachu, and Pikachu honestly would know better. Two individuals who can all but become one, Gigantamax, and have ultimate Z-moves like crazy? Where Pikachu does _everything_ with Ash, even if he is training other pokemon? Pikachu's always okay with it, and what's more, he will cheer the other pokemon on, and be appreciated by Ash for it. Ash is more in tune with Pikachu than anyone else, and this is a kid whose bonds with pokemon are extraordinary. This episode existed only to have people have the "gratification" of seeing Pikachu know what the other pokemon might feel like, always being sidelined. Sickening, OOC, and _it didn't happen!_ ....no matter that it aired.

He not really a great pokemon trainer. Ash did a good on pokemon x and y and save the world and pokemon sun and moon. Every else was down hill. G1 ash pretty much cheated to get the most badge and no don't say. Ash started his pokemon journey and he still learning. Most of it was given to ash. Ash leaves his strong pokemon to oak. Ash will never use his pokemon again. Ash promise to Pidgeot. Ash left Primeape to a guy that they just met and we will never see him again or Primeape. Anthony: let me train Primeape. He going to be p1 champion. Primeape is already p1 champion. I bet he take advantage of ash because he a kid. Sword and shield.
