I do hear setup issues on several of the Eastman's especially with the low E buzzing on frets. Possible Low nut slot, Possible too flat of neck (inadequate relief), possible too low string height measured at 12th fret..

Are the Eastman SS10-v’s modeled after a particular Gibson vintage model? Seems like they resemble 30’s J or Advanced Jumbo’s ? Thanks

Is the only difference between the e10ss and the e16ss is that the 10 is a sunburst

The 16 is maple back and sides. 10 is mahogany

I have an E16SS and an E20SS/V and had an E10D for a while. I’ve also played an E6SS, though not an E10SS. The E16SS is brighter than them all, and has the best note separation (it’s noticeably better). It is also quieter than the others, though it’s still pretty loud. I find it works amazingly well as a solo singer/accompaniment guitar (ie you and the guitar), but maybe works less well for something like bluegrass, at least compared with the other guitars I mentioned. Also pretty decent at acoustic jazz if you don’t mind the brightness. It’s less bright when playing fingerstyle. I find too that the E16SS responds better than the others to varying your technique to get different sounds out of the guitar. The tone is so neutral, I think, that it translates how you play it more than the others.

Like the previous comments said, yes the 16 is maple while the 10 is mahogany. It is also good to note that the E16 has the same inlays as the E20SS/V's and the E16 is a limited edition model, when they're out they're out.

What is a “quilted”…?

Basically figured wood in a quilted sort of pattern. “Quilted” has wavy round figuring pattern while “flamed” is straight figuring.
