honestly, one thing i have learned from watching all of chubbyemu's videos is: the body HATES min-maxing. a short list of things that can kill you: too much oxygen, not enough oxygen, too much water, not enough water, too much salt, not enough salt, too much exercise, not enough exercise, too much heat, not enough heat, et cetera. the human body is less of a DND character sheet and more of a tightrope balancing act. if you pour all your skill points into sodium, you will not become the god of sodium, you will just die.

@sokin jon I do not at all understand "eating for views". In particular, Mukbang. If you're going to do something stupid, at least consider WHY it's stupid. I refuse to believe that anyone at all would possibly think "drinking a mass amount of pickle juice after eating a gallon of pickles can't be BAD for you." Drinking anything (possibly even water, but that could be wrong to be fair) of that quantity could be very dangerous. Basically, what I'm saying is... Be safe. Simple as that. If you're seeking attention online (which I must be too old to understand or something???), never endanger yourself. It is just not worth it for what, a forgetable moment of fame? There's so much better things you can do with your life. However, that's just my own opinion. If it makes you happy, so be it, just be smart about it.

is it weird to say that this channel has actually eased my hypochondria a bit? like, i used to think every single little minor pain in my body was a serious illness, but the subjects of these videos are all described as being in agonizing pain for hours and even days, and with medical attention most of them still make a “full” recovery. it has given me an appreciation for the resilience of the human body and lets me know i’m not necessarily in trouble if i happen to , say, take an extra vitamin by mistake, or eat a few too many pieces of candy or something.

The normal effect of drinking too much salt is that it goes right through you in just a couple minutes, it's a laxative like Miralax. I think part of her problem was the mukbang caused her to resist going to the bathroom as her body called, leading it to be absorbed in the colon instead of immediately drained.

Not sure because in the video he said that she took several breaks during the mukband to use the bathroom.

To be fair, he said she peed multiple times. I think it's more the sheer volume of salt she consumed. If you eat a little too much you piss it all out; if you eat a LOT too much you can't piss it all out before it absorbs. She ate a gallon of pickles and drank a gallon of pickle juice.

This is also why laws exist. To prevent people from doing dumb things. That's why we should make it a law you must wear a mask in public during a airborne pandemic. And actually enforce it with a fine at first then jail time till the pandemic ends. Basically forced quarantine since they are too stupid to understand what's going on. And the only way a vaccine will end a pandemic is if we forced over 80% of the world to get it. Otherwise it's not a solution to end a pandemic, it's just a pretreatment to reduce the lethality of it. The same number of people would have died if we had done nothing.
@DevinDTV2 жыл бұрын
@@theFLCLguy nah then you get stupid policies like forcing people to wear masks outdoors, forcing people to remain indoors, and vaccinating people who already recovered from covid. these kinds authoritarian measures aren't based on the science, but rather tribalism, and in many cases do more harm than good. you're basically taking the very childish view that people in government always know better than everyone else, and should force everyone to obey one set of rules, without regard to logic or evidence

When I was newly pregnant I developed an overwhelming craving for pickles. I have never in my life felt an attraction as strong as a pregnancy craving, I imagine it’s akin to the craving addicts might feel. It’s all consuming at times. I was chastised for eating far too many & would hide them & hide to ‘stealth eat’ mass quantities. It’s embarrassing to think of now but at the time it was a serious issue to me & I would get very upset if anyone challenged me about my pickle devotion. My husband even remarked about being envious of the way I would longingly eye the pickle jar. My body especially my feet started to swell to a concerning degree. I just thought it was due to the pregnancy. It finally got so bad I had to talk to my doctor. My doctor, mother, & husband had a ‘picklevention’ with me. They would even do random sweeps to make sure I hadn’t squirreled any way. The swelling was an indicator of the damage the sodium overload was doing & it was terrifying. I was so concerned for my baby & realized how ridiculous I had behaved. I got on a healthy diet provided by a nutritionist & learned there’s a vast difference between a want & a need. Thanks to their help I am much more cautious about my diet & had a healthy baby who just so happens to really enjoy pickles. We just make sure to only indulge sparingly.
