The ancient history of Naw-Ruz is fascinating, but it gains added significance when connected to more recent events associated with the origin of the Baha'i Faith in the mid-19th century. The month of fasting ( 'Ala) is associated with a title of the Bab (the Exalted One), and it culminates in the festival of Naw-Ruz on the day of Baha in the month of Baha. So if the 19 days of fasting are symbolic of the 19 years of the Bab's dispensation starting in 1844, then Naw-Ruz becomes associated with 1863 and Baha'u'llah's declaration in the Garden of Ridvan 🙏
